I had my colour analysis online session with Giulia last week, and I was analyzed as an autumn soft! It definitely makes sense now, why I have struggled to figure out my undertone for so many years. I initially thought I was summer soft thinking I had a cool undertone, but being analyzed by two different professionals (first one based in Sweden and then by Giulia) as a soft autumn makes the world and my wardrobe make much more sense! I think you guys are great and for both of my sisters' birthdays this year I am going to gift them a colour analysis done by you! It will be exciting to see if our best colours will differ. Hope you´re doing well!

As a soft Autumn what would be another color group ghat you could borrow from? I realize that soft autumn is your ideal but I am trying to understand how it works. Does soft Autumn mean that your most Dominant color characteristic is muted?../doesn’t that mean you can borrow from some of soft summer? Maybe I am confused

Wow, that is fantastic to hear! I am hoping to do the online analysis soon, after this cold has gone. I laughed when the ladies said everyone thinks they are brights. One in-store (not paid for) analyst told me bright spring and I bought a very bright pink, quite expensive dress, but it is a bit too bright. Thankfully it is a warm pink, so I mute it down with accessories. I understand the point about personality - I am fairly outgoing, but the warm, bright red coat was just too much for me. I wore it once, but felt like Santa Claus and sold it on Ebay very quickly!

I think the reason why many people believe they are Winter Bright or Spring Bright is because they like the colors included in this palettes 😊 I personally love coral (Spring Warm) and all the peachy-salmon spectrum. But deep inside me a voice wispered - "Something's not working, something's not working" 😂 Now I'm aware what it is 😊

I never wore much “color” and people would always commented on that. I was always sticking with black, blues, greys, dark greys, and some pinks. I have a few yellow toned shirts, but every time I wore them I felt like I looked sick. This was my first indication I had to be cool toned, even tho I’m Hispanic and everyone around me thought I had warm skin. I finally got my color analysis done by a specialist, and low and behold, I’m a dark winter. My wardrobe is mostly cool and dark, so I am keeping most my clothes and throwing away the yellows I hate.

I'm so surprised to find out most people are within a cool undertone, specially looking at all the makeup that is on the market being predominantly warm because that's what sells better and mostly in the 'neutral' colour spectrum (you know all the warm brown palettes and not even grey tones) that would mean that so many people just believe that the warm tones suits them well but actually wearing the wrong makeup. It is such a weird phenomenon specially on social media in the beauty community everyone's telling you how you need to warm up your skin and use bronzers and such, and in reality summers and winters really do not need any warming up and still majority of people believe this is what looks the best on themselves and everyone. I really thought it was because there are less of us cool toned people
@magicxspace5406 Жыл бұрын
@@valerie6709 the eyeshadow colour can emphasize your eye colour or bring out some tones from your eyes but that's about it, it's more about the overall makeup balancing with your undertone and rest of the stuff on your face, outfit, so yeah colour season is more important than the actual eye colour, the old thing people liked to say for example that blue eyes look great with brown eyeshadow, well put a warm brown on a blue eyed summer and the person look like freshly stepping out of the grave 😆. to the bronzers/contours ... bronzers are suppose to warm up the skin so give you smt. like a natural tan, they usually don't go cool, contours on the other hand suppose to create a shadow and helps you sculpt your face so they should match your natural shadows that you can see in your face so it can be super cooltoned for a cool season person, the placement also matters, bronzers are placed on the higher spots on the face where you would naturally tan and contours on the more deeper parts where you want to create a shadow. So nicely done contour can look great on summer or winter but I would not use bronzer at all , it just looks very out of place on a cool face, especially for the predominantly cool types like cool summer and cool winter bronzer is a bad idea

That is part of the reason why I love Korean makeup brands. Color Analysis is very common in South Korea, so most Makeup brands actually label their lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, makeup etc. as "cool" or "warm". Sometimes they even come with the exact season (only summer, winter, spring, autum - no sub catergories). That makes it sooo much easier to buy things. Of course that means you often have to order online but the guidelines help so much. I really recommend looking into those, especially if it's hard for you to see yourself if it's a cool or warm tone. Someone pinks for example can really throw me off unless they are literally coral or almost violet.

Oh my goodness!! I clapped when you said soft summer and soft autumn are the hardest to distinguish because their undertone doesn’t show up as much. I have been reading about color analysis on and off for 5+ years, and since watching your videos I have been even more interested. I’ve “drapped” myself with shirts, towels, and kitchen rags trying to determine my season. I have gotten so frustrated thinking I’m just bad at seeing it. But I got my teenage daughter to play along the other day and I saw it instantly on her. She is very fair skinned and has more contrast than me, even though our hair is very similar in tone and depth. My desire to know more about seasonal color analysis is to allow the true beauty we were created with to shine through. I want to teach that to my daughter too. I love that your channel focuses on that rather than achieving perfection or changing yourself to look a certain way❤

So sommer soft / autumn soft are the hardest to find out (or to tell apart). Well then most likely the client can stray into the other territory. If it is hard to tell, "going wrong" will be also hard to tell. Maybe one should rather concentrate on the GOOD colours out of both subgroups. Also interesting: there are more people with cool undertones (well, at least those that get an analysis. They have mostly caucasians.) And one should wait with an analysis when the person tans a lot. It will make it harder to detect the cool or warm undertone. Some tan changes the intensity levels (like makeup, or defining the eyes better). The person needs and also can pull off higher intensity levels in the colours they wear. So that is the strategy for the too intense favorite piece a statement piece. Getting dolled up, the hair, the make-up, a tan (or self bronzer). This is how the actresses pull off the red carpet robes in intense colours. the big decolleté (so closest to the face is skin, not a very intense colour). And they wear perfectly done make-up.

Nelly the black woman has so much intensity herself (the colour of her skin, the contrast of eyes, the black hair) that she can pull off the intense colours. A person with lighter skin would be overwhelmed by the colours. I doubt there are caucasians that can wear them. Except in form of the big red carpet robe, with excellent make-up, false lashes, lots of mascara, and eyeshadow and eyeliner, hair done by top professionals. And even then they often do not wear the colour close to the face. If they have a deep neckline, the face (with lots of make-up so a lot of visual interest is offered) will be surrounded by hair and by the skin of neck and bust. The dramatic colour of the robe is broken up a bit. And the make-up and hair-do is at the same level (drama) as the dress. With all that care caucasians CAN wear bright winter or bright spring.

I only recently discovered color analysis - I feel like I've been fighting my season my whole life because I love gold jewelry, blonde highlights, and peachy pinks / corals on myself. Color analysis is making me realize these things work OK on me because it's not far off from my best match, but MOST harmonious on me are brights leaning cool (and silver). I was skeptical, but tried wearing a vivid blue top with a magenta lip and silver earrings - I thought it looked lovely but I wasn't expecting the amount of feedback I got from everyone on how great I looked 🤔 I'm thinking I need to embrace my natural hair color to fully commit to this.

Did you see the analysis of Nellie ? (or Melanie) Dark skinned model. She was found to be a winter bright and in her case the intensity (bright) was almost more important than the untertone (cool). She could very well wear some bright spring colours. Looked very good in bright orange, which would be normally impossible for a cool season type. Would be interesting if that works for you as well. Of course her dark skin might make it possible that she can venture into neighbour territory. You have fair skin so the grey/pink or yellowish undertones shine through more - and they may have more impact.

There’s a color analysis system called “Dressing Your Truth” where your energy type determines your colors. They look at facial features and personality. They don’t use seasons, but there are four types that parallel the season names as well as the Four Humours-Sanguine, Phlegmatic, Choloric, and Melancholic. In their system I can wear brights and tints…. But I have been draped as a soft Autumn…
@franziskani11 ай бұрын
The original colour system is only 4 seasons. Now with the 3 subgroups per season = 12 subgroups (and often the neighbouring as an option to steal from) it is more nuanced - and more likely to be a fit for all people that use the system (incl. people that are not white). If the four humour system surprises you and inspires you - why not ? IF the colours you find with it do something for you it should be visible, no matter the system. With the videos of Alessandra and Giulia I like very much the standardized approach and that one can SEE the differences (the viewers get their eye and perception trained). There is no esoteric mumbo jumbo about vein colors and whether you had freckles as child or the various eye colours and hair colours that are typical for a type. Which confuses a lot of people that try to self-diagnose. It is the draping and nothing but the draping (first with the hair covered even) and SEEING the different effect on the skin. Cool versus Warm but ALSO intensity. (the latter is important for people with more melanin in their skin. I think for people with a very good tan or people of colour the intensity becomes more important and the cool/warm category becomes a bit less important. Which makes it hard to diagnose whether they are cool or warm - on the other hand they can stray more and it will still look good. The subgroups factor in intensity, so the system is a fit for all races.

As an adult I don't find that I burn easily at all and I thought I had a somewhat neutral skin tone. I got an online color analysis and she said I am a spring bright. I think this is true because neon pink, bright orange and warm bright reds make me look vibrant and healthy and are my best colors. I also think I look good in deep purple and some black. Not sure if you will still read this 7 days later, but I really have to say once more that you guys are absolutely awesome. Since I started watching your videos, yt also recommended a lot of similar videos and, to be quite honest, they suck. Just proves to me once more that you two are highly competent (and also likeable) at what you are doing. I don't know if this would be in your comfort zone, but I think you could make a video about how your prices are absolutely worth it even for people with not too much of money. I myself didn't even spent 100€ on clothes in the last 5 years, but I know a lot of people that spent enough of money on often cheap clothes in the hope to have enough choice to get a nice outfit together. I am sure they would save a lot of money if they had their color analyzed by you guys and then get themself some good clothes in good colors they can wear all the time. In regards of women with weight issues, I think that topic would work well with the money topic, as they also often struggle with getting the right clothes. Clothes for bigger sizes I see here in Germany often have cool colors and horrid patterns. I am pretty sure that it would get great reactions if you would invite someone with bigger size for your videos, let her wear 2-3 simple tops of the kind that aren't super flattering but can be worn by anyone without looking bad and show how the right color alone can make that person shine.

Hi there guys! My daughter introduced me to you and I'm so grateful. I recently got an online analysis as a gift and it's turned me upside down - I've given away the 2/3 of my wardrobe that were colours I loved, but, weren't in my palette. I'm now embracing my 50's with a new passion for colour. And, since I am an autumn (warm) like Alessandra, I would love to ask what brands of clothes you have found most have our colour palette?

I love your content, even when you are not analyzing people, it is so refreshing, easy and informative to listen to you two lovely women! I would like to add my two cents about colors and slimming effect, though. The best slimming effect will not be gained through that one right color only, but the way you use it. So basically, being in your colors, being in harmony will create a slimming effect. It probably has to do with humans percieving color first, and we appreciate visual harmony a lot. Also, it is worth mentioning that forming a vertical line with your clothing (the same color for top and bottom) will also add to that slimming/elongating effect overall.

Bright Spring here!! Hi from the USA! Found your channel on Friday and I love your content! Striking green eyes, peaches and cream complexion, and I flush/blush very easily. With cool, summer or subdued Winter colors I look ill; too much warmth or softness and it's distracting; I need punchy, intense tones. When I wear colors from Bright spring I get compliments; occasionally, I can borrow colors from a bright Winter and use them as a base or accent color but they don't look as good as my warmer Spring tones.

Thankyou for answering my question about being on the fence due to body image issues. I typically wear medium/medium-high intensity colours because I feel like they're the most flattering for my size and body shape, but I sometimes wonder if something lower intensity might suit my complexion better. I've been on the fence about whether or not I'd like to book a session because I'm nervous about being disappointed or feeling insecure if the colours that suit my natural colouring best aren't colour that I feel comfortable or confident in. I'd love to book a session with you next time I'm in Melbourne (I don't know when that will be, but hopefully later this year or early next year).

Dear Caitlin, thank you for your question. Personality and taste play a role in our style and colour palette. We analyse people in a very analytic and impartial way to tell them the "truth", but then we always have a conversation about taste and personality so don't be afraid. Also think that probably there are some beautiful colours that can do so much for you but maybe you don't know them... yet! Much love from the both of us 💜

And yes, I agree that Emma Watson isn´t Bright Spring, but I could actually add that most of the celebrities who are used for Light Spring examples are not Light, namely Scarlett Johannson, Amanda Seyfried and lately Saoirse Ronan. I can see why! people might think they would be, but their colours aren´t in the light palette. Their style type! is often in fact mistaken for colour type. My guess is that like Saoirse they often have some gamine essence in the mix and this can easily distract from the actual colour palette. I am Light Spring, but in the system of Truth is beauty I am a Dramatic-Gamine-Ingenue. Personaly I found this a very interesting aspect to find out, because how style essence and colour play together can result in a quite different impression. Sending much love from Germany ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I would have loved to ask if there's a hereditary aspect to colour analysis. For instance, is it more likely for my mum and I to belong to the same palette? If one analyzed a whole family, would they probably have the same undertone? I'll ask next time, I'm really rooting for this channel to reach 100k!

Thank you for the great Q&A session! It's unexpected to find that there are more cool undertoned people in the world than warm ones, because I constantly struggle to find good shades of clothes in online stores. I feel like most designers are focused on warm palette, and finding good shade of pink or red in a store feels like a victory! Pretty tired of "light grey and navy blue" palette (I identify myself as cool winter).
@SueRosalie Жыл бұрын
the numbers make sense because red hair accounts for many of the people with warm undertones, and red hair is statistically rare in the population overall
@DariaMotorina Жыл бұрын
@@SueRosalie I think this approach is more true for caucasians, because people from Asian, Arab and African countries have warm undertone more often and make the most part of the earth population. As an example, I see for several seasons in a row that Uniqlo have warm color palette for bright garments and just the same black-navy-silver items for cold undertones, same goes for other affordable brands. I have found just one brand that has balanced palette for each color season - Marc O'polo (pricey but affordable on sales)
@franziskani11 ай бұрын
Not in the world. But among their clients (mostly caucasians !) there are more cool toned people. Of light to medium intensity - so more summer than winter.

Funny you mentioned this! When I first got into color analysis, I also thought I was closest to Spring Bright. A year later I started to review it all, and am now fairly certain I am Dark Autumn. My confusion stemmed from the fact that highlighter yellow and bright pink look great on me although I seem to have a warm undertone, but now I think that might be because my sister palette is dark winter which can wear these clear and bright colors! The colours I look and feel most at home in are definitely more brown, olive green and some dark red. My skintone is also making it hard to analyze by myself cause I have olive skin which is only slightly warm, and my summer and winter coloring differs by several nuances...Maybe someday I will get an analysis from you guys to confirm ;)
@SueRosalie Жыл бұрын
olive skin always has a cool undertone, but you should get an analysis by Giulia and Alessandra. Also watch all of their videos so you get a better idea of the colours that are in each palette.

Man, I think I'm a bright spring! I have naturally copper red hair, light golden-blonde (some might say white) eyebrows and eyelashes, very white skin that i think is more warm than cool but isnt suuuper warm. My eyes are fairly bright blue with yellowish around the pupil. No clue what I'd be if not bright spring! I look best in salmon to flamingo pink, turquoise to robin's egg blue, and grass/spring green (like peridot green).

Among _caucasians_ there are more cool seasons. And of course more summer - which is the low to medium intensity. Would also make sense for caucasians. The pink/grey untertone of the skin can shine through. If they have more yellow melanin - that also shows more with fair skin, every human has more darkbrown than yellow melanin (very fair skinned people also have _some_ darkbrown melanin), some have a bit more of the yellow stuff and then they are warm - true gingers have the most of yellow melanin. I think a lot of Asians have a yellowish hue to their skin, and I would assume that a lot of dark skinned people are in the warm category as well. Nell the dark model they showed in another video is a bright winter = cool, but she looks very good in some of the bright spring colours. The undertone cool / war was harder to diagnose.. And with her naturally higher intensity getting the intensity of the colour right is more important than the cool / warm category. Therefore she can pull of a bright orange (when she is a cool type).
