Oh Johanna, thank you for creating your luxuriously gorgeous books that are changing the world! I just wanted to tell you that my mom, who is 86, lost her husband one year ago. Since then she has just been sitting alone in a chair, crying and wishing to die. Three weeks ago I gave her the gift of your Enchanted Forest with a box filled with coloring materials. She tentatively took a step. In the next 3 weeks she became so enthralled that she is nearly finished with that book!!!! HOW? She is smiling and saying she needs more books, she absolutely loves it! Beautiful, Johanna, as always! This is the technique I like to use when shading and creating gradients as well - I only use a blender pencil on colors that are a little trickier to blend together. Thank you for sharing your insight with us!

I like using Ergosoft rather than blending chemicals. I know it's daft, but I sometimes feel that the drawing chooses the colours and it's up to the colourist to follow the feeling. .. I hope that made sense...:-)

I have all your coloring books. Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest, Magical Jungle, The Lost Ocean and Johanna's Christmas. I can't wait til Christmas to start that one! Can I suggest a Fall Coloring book? I love all your books, but I think Lost Ocean is my favorite so far! I use my Faber Castell Polychromos to color in them, and the pictures come out beautiful! Thank you so much for your beautiful books! I love the paper that they are printed on, it holds the color from my Polychromos beautifully!!!

+Bon Bon If you're going to buy Staedtler pencils, be sure you get the Ergosoft. I made the mistake of buying the Staedtler 1270 set of 48 triangular pencils at Michael's, and I really hate them. They're hard and scratchy, and the colors are lackluster.
