So enlightening following the process of Loiuse's 'Mind map" prior to starting the picture. I love how her ideas are so clearly articulated, plus the technical advice.

I love Louise's "sloppy mix" phrase. I have demonstrated how to paint skies and had to explain to people that when they see a mess, it means that their painting is getting there. And not to stop at that point. I also like the credit card tip and the way she has separate palettes of pastels. Thank you for demonstrating.

You can see a little bit of why the series has become successful. I would love to get back to the studio Arthur but this has over taken my life at the moment. Hope all is well, Graeme

Graeme Stevenson what you are doing is very honorable and hard work, The editing alone is grueling enough to say the least. What really surprises me is how I missed these all this time. I have always taken pride in how thorough I am with researching things in regards to helping other artists. However having discovered this through another artist just goes to show how we all can help one another. I surely will be sharing this. Ride free as you have the best of both worlds.....Peace

Thank you for this video. I'm trying my hand at portraits in pastel and when I hit my sloppy mix stage I did get quite nervous, however this video calmed me and I can't wait to jump back in. Thanks again :)

Not nearly enough painting to be called a lesson. The conversation and the past works being shown in the middle were big distractions and wasted too much time. It is nice to hear her talk about art, but not instead of doing the art. And then, why cut away and show a piece hanging in a gallery just when she starts to work? It's like you're saying, oh no, that's the boring part, people won't be interested in all that painting. When you claim to be showing a "lesson," the painting is what people are here to see!

There's being constructively critical, and then there's just being unnecessarily harsh.

Spinning -- Is this the first video in the series you've watched? If not, you should know they are not Step 1-2-3 tutorials. Most of us could not hope to achieve the level of painting that the featured artists have reached. I find them inspirational, and greatly enjoy the mix of conversation, techniques, and images of previous work. If you want happy little tree lessons, Bob Ross videos might be more your speed.

This is not one of your best. I throughly enjoy your videos, and i really like Louise's work. But showing the other works while she was talking and working was very distracting for me and took up valuable screen time. All said and done however, I wish i had just a drop of Louise's talent, and your warmth.
