Yes of course chalk paint will stick to just about any surface without any preparation the only surface I would stay away from is oily plastics it doesn’t seem to like anything that’s got any silicon in it 😊😊

Jessica Turner Jessica Turner hi he said the base was cocoa near the beginning tho the audio makes it quite difficult to hear. Hope that helps not sure on all the others except he used Paris grey first over the cocoa then Annie Sloan olive in certain places then Versailles and I think nearly beat a black color i have the first three colors but not sure of the others I do wish lovely tutorials would list the colors but often ppl don't watch through if things are listed yet the issue here is audio as the tutorial is interesting enough to watch through At any rate Hope this helps!
