Colt 2024 Blued Python review.

Colt has introduced the Python in a blued finish for 2024, Is this revolver worth the Python roll mark? That is the question everyone has, and it seems there are some heated conflicts on that very idea. I have some experience with the older Pythons, and they are fine revolvers; however, with so many collectors hoarding them for so long, the price has inflated past what many folks can afford. I have wanted a shooter-grade Python for many years but cannot justify the cost, and if there is a problem having to find a gunsmith who can work on it, I have shot ones that belonged to friends and did without. Colt did what made sense, updated the Python, and reintroduced it. With the improvements, you now have the opportunity to buy a brand new Python that you will not feel guilt running that box of .357 Magnum ammunition through. Even though it has been redesigned, it is still a Python and performs as expected.

While my practical side tells me the stainless Python's finish is a bit more durable, I have always been a sucker for a nicely blued revolver and to me, the Python is at the top of that list! What a beautiful work of art and thank you for bringing it to us kind sir.

3 vent holes in a 4.25” gun, ruined the original looking tbh

Tell them to make the vent ribs like they do on the stainless and old models. Three vent ribs on a 4 inch barrel make it look like a Rossi.

My complaint of all manufacturers is the barrel length. Why do we care about Canada when the public there cannot own handguns. I carry my vintage firearms in vintage leather which is 4 inches. I will not buy any revolver that has a Canadian barrel. IIRC Smith classics have 4 inch barrel. All my 4 inch revolvers have 4 inch barrels.

Dont like how colt changed the 2 vent barrel on the 4.125 to 3 vents. 2 and 3 vents historically easily identified the 4 inch and 6 inch barrels. 3 vents on the 4 inch looks.... I dont know....cheap?

It's NOT identical! 3 vents in the rib on the blued vs 2 on the stainless

I like blued guns over stainless. Still struggling with the 1499 price tag though. Could I afford it? Yes. Do I think it's worth it? Still up for debate.

I've been waiting for this since they announced the new Pythons. My biggest disappointment when the new Pythons came out is that they didn't offer the blue finish in the first place.

One of the Colt reps on another KZbin 2024 Shot Show video said the MSRP of the Blued Python Is $1599! I'm partial to the Blued version as well. Great video my friend!!!

I like it but not a fan of the 3 vent slots on a 4 inch . It makes it look like a Taurus in my opinion. It makes it look too busy or cluttered. Please ask Colt at shot show why they changed this and bring back the 2 vents .
