Dude, I am loving watching you come full circle on beer. I have never had Colt 45 before either (I have always written supposed malt liquors off as garbage) but I should cave and give it a try. I'm drinking Miller High Life right now and loving it. Sometimes, especially on a hot day or after a long day of work, fancy craft beer doesn't sound as satisfying as cheap swill beer! I also fully agree with you that reviewing widely available shelf beer is fun and actually starts conversations. Cheers! P.S. I don't know if you get Sweetwater Brewing in southern California, but their pale ale is really good and, in my opinion, on par with Sierra Nevada.

High Life is my shit. I love that beer. PBR, too. Give Colt 45 a shot and see what you think. I don’t get Sweetwater out here but I’ve had their beers when I visited Idaho years back. Solid stuff!

I've never had this version, we get Colt 45 here but ours is 8% in Canada. If you ever see it, you should try the Colt 45 High Gravity it's 8.5%.

In 95 my buds and I road tripped to Graceland to see Elvis's place, we stayed at a Encolodge right next to the place and drank Colt 45 all night after the tour, I thought it was great and we were amazed at all the different sizes, 64. 40. 22, 26, Oz and minis, lol, love the vid! Thx

I never wouldve had any interest in this beer until seeing your video, i went out and got one and immediately fell in love with it! Im traditionally a coors light/banquet guy, but it takes me about 30 mins to finish each one unless im trying to get hammered. I cracked this one open fully expecting to throw up, that bottle didnt last 10 mins. Super good, waaay more drinkable than any of my usual go-tos

It was actually named in honor of 1963 Baltimore Colts football player Jerry Hill #45. Not a snobby comment btw

Back in the early/mid 90s before hitting VT craft beers like Long Trail and Otter Creek, it was always a couple 40s of Crazy Horse, Colt 45, or Private Stock to start the night! Fun blunted foggy times. Thanks for the flashback, great review!

I always wanted to try Private Stock just because BIG rapped about it on Juicy but never got the chance. I don’t think it’s around anymore 😩. Haven’t had Crazy Horse, either. Is that still a thing?! 🤙🏼🍻

@@jsenigaglia Private Stock discontinued in 2013, Stroh Brewery bought Crazy Horse in 1996, taking on prior lawsuits (thx Google). Think it's still around, but had to change the name to Commanders Malt Liquor ; )

There used to be something in the mid-late 90s called Colt 45 double malt. It was the color of a nut brown and came in wide mouth bottles for ease of flow. I remember loving it but have no idea what it tasted like, if it still exsists thats the review we all need

This is my go-to Malt Liquor. The ABV use to be higher around 6% then, it was lowered to 5.6%. I give 100/100 A+ in the Malt Liquor Style. What I like most is, it does have a bit of a unique flavor. Compared to Mickey's, OE800, and Blue Bull Shlitz. The OG Malt Liquors.

You got to drink that out of a 40 oz bottle. I graduated HS in the 90s so I drank a ton of malt liquor. Private Stock was the best (RIP), Crazy Horse and Mickey's and Red Bull were all good. In HS at some party we found an unopened 40 of colt45 in a creek and drank it...that might have been the only colt45 I had...it was good then. I was not a big Old E guy. St Ides kinda sucked too.
