On that smith they drilled the top strap , if u look on the inside of front strap the front screw don’t go all the way down flush creating a vortex and will burn the cylinder ruining the finish , if the owner calls S&W they will ship him out a new screw no charge fixing that problem

I feel like both are cool for different reasons. Historically speaking, the smith is unmatched. However, the Anaconda is a python on steroids, and who doesn't love that? Plus, it can shoot higher pressure loads compared to the 29, which is great. Cant go wrong with either. (Colt needs to release a blued Anaconda with wood grips)

I purchased my blued S&W 29 with a 6.5-in. barrel and presentation case in 1978 after a lengthy search that covered several states and many gun shops. Back then they were still in short supply following in the wake of the "Dirty Harry" movies. Years later I would go thru a few Redhawks and an Anaconda (older mfr) before ending up with an early "no-dash" 4-in. Model 629. The aforementioned heavy, bulky revolvers came and went but I still held onto the slimmer, lighter Smiths. Admittedly, I doubt if either of my Smiths could stand up to a constant diet of full-power loads compared to either the Redhawk or Anaconda.

I have a new one of each but with 6" barrel and just took both to the range today. Even though the Colt is a beautiful weapon compared to the 29, I would take the 29 all day long. The 29 is just smoother and more accurate. Nothing against the Anaconda, but this is just one mans opinion, especially when factoring in the dollar amount. One more thing about the Anaconda, I didn't like the rubber grip that came with it, but for $100 I changed out the grip to one like the 29. Real quick, it's nothing against Colt as I love my new Python.

Greetings from Belgium and thank's to United States for producing such beautiful and reliable revolvers who are work of art. I would never sell my Colt Python and my SW Model 29.

Ok I have rewatched it and also looked at the one I own and called S&w to be sure the barrel is not sleeved and if you look what he’s referring to is the crown of the muzzle. Again I say no sleeve. Google it… No need to reply and be rude. Believe whatever you want. Willful ignorance is bliss I guess.
