Colt. Thank you for this song. Sadly it is the truth that all deployed soldiers go through. I have been in the army 16 1/2 years now. Deployed to Iraq twice and have battled my own demon's. Luckily though diagnosed with ptsd I have made it through. I battled with alcohol long ago and found comfort and a wonderful woman i now call my wife. We are expecting our first child and can not be happier. I have my good days and my bad days still. I really find peace while in the woods hunting and or out fishing. I encourage anyone dealing with ptsd to find something constructive to do and concentrate on it. Again thank you so much for this song.

The Term Veteran is Reserved for Our Men and Women that Fight for our Rights and Freedoms Everyday. So think about it next time you decide to loosely use that term. That should also be considered Stolen Valor in my opinion. All Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS workers have all fringed on the status we earned, taking our discounts, using our holidays for themselves. It needs to Come to an end. Find your OWN Terms and holidays to take over.

So I never associated this song with the video until now. But, I’ve felt this song on an immensely deep level. Struggling with loss, life, and alcoholism this song has had a huge impact on my life in the last couple weeks. I’ve been sober since April of 2018 but I always struggle during the holidays. This song came by in the perfect time. The way I was raised, men don’t cry. I shed a couple tears when I listened to this the first time. So if you’re struggling, don’t quit. Even if you’re failing. All you have to do is not give up.

Both my grandparents were ww2 army veterans and both excellent upstanding men that served in the European theater. They never talked about anything they seen or done and I can't help but wander what struggles they faced on a daily basis or what scenes played out in their heads over and over. I seen Colt Ford in concert in w.n.c last fall and his performance was amazing, one of my favorite concerts ever!

I did 5 deployments in the Army, 3 for OIF, 2 for OEF and was medically retired following my last deployment in 2012... I was an absolute basket case when i got home. I was not AT ALL prepared to see and do the shit i did. Addiction became me, it almost destroyed my family many times. Through remarkably hard work, i have returned to a productive member of society. Its the hardest thing that i continue to do on a daily basis. Guilt, Fear and a lack of love for ones self make for a hell of a fight... forgive yourself, forgive those who have passed transgression on you... we need you back in the fight Bubba... once youre done taking a knee, you come back over here with us and reengage with the fight for life! I believe in you!!!
