I camped somewhere around there in 1974 when I was just 19. We were just passing through, thinking we could see about 30 National Parks in just 2 weeks. That night it rained hell fire and brimstone, and an amateur erected pole of our old - fashioned tent fell. The other girls were apoplectic, but having been a girl scout, I knew there was nothing to do but put on a poncho and fix all the stakes and lines. I did so and went back to sleep, but they didn't, and it wasn't long before they were shouting "Dinah, wake up!!" "Dinah, come out here!!" "Oh, let me sleep." "You gotta see this!!" That got my attention. "See what?" "Look!!" So I put on my raingear and came out to see the starriest sky I had ever seen. And they weren't all just sitting sedate in the ether. About a dozen of them hurried across the sky as if they were trying to see all 30 of those National Parks too.

Boy, that's like going back in time 30 years, that store has not changed. As a half Indian kid, my mom used to do beading demonstrations at the Indian musuem in the 90s, but I remember that gift shop because my dad would buy us kids toys from there, and I remember getting strawberry nesquick from the grocery store, though I hated milk. I remember it was raining for a week once, so my dad bought my sister and I watercolors to paint with from that store. When we went there in the summer, I took my sister out to play "adventure" where we'd walk into the woods as far as we'd dare to go, but the stories our mom had told us about bears and bad mountain spirit people who kidnapped little kids would always make us too scared to go very far.

Actually to clarify, that part of the beach you went to isn't the starting point of the trail. There is a road at the very end. also as for the internet it can be dropped in a hart beat at the beach The best place to start for guest is the laundry/showers. I'm actually an employee going on my 10th year this Sunday the 31st. Theres also stables, tent village, the rv park, the huge camp ground. Yes we do live on property, we have employee rv park and Dorms that are a bit hidden there in the trees as your driving on the main road before you get to the General store/ Gift shop. Also there is an Activities desk, but to note this year a lot of it will not be running because of the virus. There is also another store at the marina, but this year that is closed as well. Anyway take care

The Park Ranger told me the trail was there I didn't realized it crossed the road. Good tip on the wifi, I tried at the Ranch House for wifi it wasn't very good there but enough to text with. That's awesome you get to live and work there.
