I first went to Biltmore in 2018, made such an impression that I just bought tickets to return in the spring of 2025!

Has anybody ever discovered the secret vault? It’s hidden in plain sight and hundreds of people walk past it daily. Also does anybody know what was hidden on the 3rd floor during the war? Which country sent the crown jewel over to also hide it in the Biltmore house?

I just did the self-guided tour over the weekend. Words can't describe this place and pictures only give you a small understanding of the scale and grandeur. I will go back for the other tours and a two day pass next time. One day is not enough time to spend at the Biltmore.

Everyone told me to check Biltmore estate...drove there and didn't get past the drive in as when checking out cost of the different tours...omg! Drove right back out and from your video of tour I guess didn't miss much as for the cost, would not have been worth it! Would have liked to have been able to drive by the exterior but that also cost too much. I have found more interesting houses in other states that didn't break my travel budget...some were even free!

The heyday of Biltmore only lasted about 20 years. Once George Died in 1914, Edith did not have the interest or desire to run the estate in the way it had been run previously.

I think people need to realize Ms King was titled as the Housekeeper, not 'a' housekeeper. In a household of this size, it would have been an almost totally management job, with very little actual manual labor actually performed by her. Additionally, in most households the rank of 'Housekeeper' was senior to 'Butler'. In huge country estates, you could have a 'Steward', which would be senior to both, and that would be a strictly senior management job with servants making your bed and preparing your meals.

I was there the beginning of Dec. '21 so Christmas was up & running. Different decorations from what I saw in your video. They do a great job. I am on a walker, so I was disappointed I could not see arboretum as there was no shuttle. Unless you are disabled you would likely not notice there are other lacking features around the main housing structure. I did get many great photos for memories.

Thanks for this in detail video. I was thinking of stopping by there in July as a pass through for two nights, now I know I won't. I stayed at a campground in NH that had no cell service but...there was an 'emergency phone', pay phone at the office on the porch. I saw a woman trying to figure out how to use it. Her EV had a dead battery since there was no place to plug the silly thing in. She and me and my husband couldn't figure out the convoluted instructions how to use it. The woman had to wait for the office to open. What a dumb setup. What you showed is a HUGE cabin area. The dorky music was not necessary however, I did appreciate you showing us the area. (we have mute buttons for a reason) I didn't see any parking by the cabins but down a ways. Another deal breaker for us. Happy trails to you!

The Vanderbilts an the Parris families were over North Carolina an South Carolina an was part of the British monarch but to their own crown people think king Edward of England was over north an South Carolina an he was not

All of these requirements they have to pass for $12.00 a hour? No way is this fair. Not anybody can do this and their pay should reflex this. This job requires skills that most people don't have.
