Ryan Leaf saying rookies need to sit is hilarious. Not every rookie is as emotionally fragile as Leaf was. Peyton played week 1 of his rookie year. He had a rough time, but it made him better. Luck played week 1 of his rookie year. Joe Burrow played week 1. The key will be tempering expectation. He won't take the team to the SuperBowl this season. This is a learning time. But it will be fun to watch and I'm excited for this guy.

I get what you’re saying, but some QBs do have to sit, the leap from college to NFL is significant and Richardson, who unlike those other guys you named, didn’t even produce in college to be a sure fire top 5 pick. He was drafted off potential and physical ability, if the college processing was difficult, the NFL is going to be 10x that

@@jeanraphael60 for sure. I mean, Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith for a year for crying out loud! I know it’s a case by case basis. But I truly think that if the coaches thought some hard learned lessons would break this kid, they wouldn’t risk it. But I think they believe that he has shown that he can use failure as a teacher so the reps will be incredibly valuable in speeding up his learning curve. And when the team is a lot more than just a good QB away, it’s the perfect time to let him learn through failure.

As a Colts fan, I couldn't be happier. He's my QB, and do I know he's gonna struggle? Yes, but it's how he grows from the mistakes to correct what he can. It's also a team sport, so he is not the only one making mistakes. I'm not expecting playoffs, championship, or the superbowl. Be nice, but no. I feel we have a much better chance this year having a winning record than what we did last year. If he and the team get us to 8/9 or 9/8 fantastic, or even 7/10, that's great. If he and the team don't, that's fine too because we are still building, and AR is my QB. LET'S GO COLTS!!

You’re not gonna have a Ben Roethlisberger or Dan Marino-type rookie year. This Draft Class isn’t going to be like the 2012 Draft with Andrew Luck, RG3, and Russell Wilson. What matters is what he looks like three years down the road. Let’s take Kenny Pickett, for example. Frankly, I was disappointed with what I saw from Kenny Pickett last year. But what I’ve seen from training camp and from the first preseason game, he is light-years ahead of last year, which is what you want to see. The Trey Lance situation shows why “game reps” are important. The 49ers tried the Chiefs and Packers approach: Draft a quarterback, who you can develop behind a veteran and then start him down the road. As we have clearly seen, it doesn’t always work that way. Similar to Trey Lance, Anthony Richardson played one full season in college. Both were drafted top-five because of their arm and unbelievable, athletic ability. AR needs these reps in order to develop. I believe Trey Lance is going to be a wake up call, not with drafting certain quarterbacks in the top 5, but how quickly you get those quarterbacks acclimated.

Its going to be interesting to see if Richardson is succesful. We know he can run the ball and has a strong arm but can he develop as a passer is the big question. I dont know if there has ever been a QB with so little success in college that has been any good yet. I know he only had a year but it wasn't pretty. They are gambling based on his physical talent because he hasnt proved anything yet. Why not, since they are gambling on him anyway, even if it takes him a couple years to develop they can suck this season and get another high round draft pick to build around him for the future. Yhe Colts know they are not going to ve goid this year but maybe if ge can develop, they can be good in the futue

Are you really comparing the college resume of AR to Manning? Can we please stop it
@carrite

I don't think anybody is comparing the college resume of AR to either Manning or Luck. Clearly, AR needs MORE game reps faster, which is driving this decision. The Colts do not have the luxury of spending half a year letting him watch Gardner Minshew throw checkdowns.

There’s a reason I stopped watching this show. Just pure negativity. This is about the only national show that’s basically shitting on AR as the starter n that he’ll be a pick machine. We have no idea. N to be honest. If you actually look into the pick. It’s actually McKenzies fault. Steichen pretty much said it n if you watch film. I think Shane n AR hot routed him to flat route to allow AR to get pass out with Slot blitz coming n McKenzie ran the original 5 yard out n it caused him to pump fake n back foot it to McKenzie so he didn’t get sacked. N yet AR stayed calm all game n had great feet n drilled 2 amazing balls. One to Kylen Granson over the middle n the ball to Pierce.

I find it rather racist that these mainstream media people seem to only compare Anthony to other black quarterbacks like cam Newton or RG3 period when the reality is he is nothing like those other 2 quarterbacks hes more like an Andrew luck, hes a pocket passer that can truck people period what? Even more strange is that. Black dudes saying this afraid to compare him to a white quarterback. I find a very racist at least find a black quarterback. That's somewhat comparable to Anthony. The problem is there isn't one.

The Native American Guardian's Association (NAGA) has developed a "Promise to ALL AMERICANS" as a statement of principle and policy. All Americans should not only be able to sign this pledge, but they should be eager to stand up for the dignity of EVERY AMERICAN that is under assault in today's increasingly nonsensical culture wars. This is a "LINE IN THE SAND" pledge that reinforces undeniable history of the NATIVE AMERICAN assisting the founding of the United States with Native American principles used by the Founding Fathers in the United States Constitution - and, EVERY AMERICAN's right to the 1st and 14th, and every Amendment to the Constitution and not be targets of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) cancel culture environment. This is not a partisan issue: it reaches across the political spectrum dating back to our Founding Fathers. The Native American Guardian's Association (NAGA) stands up for and is not only fighting back to preserve key elements of American History and the Ist and 14th Amendment, NAGA is fighting for the civil liberties of EVERY American. Americans see they are losing their rights because of a vicious cancel culture that shows little care for their concerns or civil liberties: It is time to support leaders. brands and organizations who will stand with EVERY AMERICAN, rather than fighting against them, As you are undoubtedly aware the Redskins had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the American Indian community. dating back to their founding in 1932 as the Boston Braves, when their original coach was Native Indian community. dating back to their founding in 1932 as the Boston Braves. when their original coach was Native American (and former Carlisle Indian star) Lone Star Dietz. The team was renamed "The Redskins" in 1933 and successfully carried that moniker for 87 years, during which time the team won five NFL championships and three Super Bowls (1982, 1987 and 1991 - which your own organization previously marketed incorrectly as 1983, 1988, 1992). During that time, it became one of the most well-known and well-loved professional sports teams - except to Dallas Cowboys fans - in the world and was avidly supported across the U.S. by native fan groups such as the 505 Redskins* and many others. In 2015, our organization filed an amicus brief on behalf of The Redskins in support of their successful First Amendment case, which overruled a finding by the U.S. Patent Office that the name could not be registered as a trademark because it was derogatory, Our fact-based arguments have won in both state and federal courts that NBC Sports even headlined "Redskins win trademark fight over name as Justice Department gives up," (by Charean Williams, published June 29, 2017). In fact, we strongly disputed that conclusion and, indeed, a subsequent poll by The Washington Post released in July 2016, indicated that 90% of American Indians agreed with us. You simply cannot erase history and target the Native American community by eradicating the name "Redskins" while being an organization that fosters other Constitutional rights including players who don't honor the Amercian Flag and kneel during our National Anthem. At this moment in history, we are formally requesting that the team revitalize its relationship with the American PLASMA WLA RAJEIR Should we need to encourage a national boycott similar to what happened to Anheuser Busch (Bud Light) which is now down $27 Billion (note, not one brick thrown, not one highway blocked, not one building burned) - WE WILL DO JUST THAT! In 2023 America, this oppression, and arbitrary and capricious recognition of U.S. history and Constitutional rights is not acceptable. We are standing our ground. If you don't acknowledge history, we are doomed to repeat it. The coin has been tossed; we choose to honor and defend. I look forward to hearing from you, Sincerely.
