Columbia Cancels Main Commencement Event After Weeks of Turmoil

Columbia University canceled its main commencement event slated for May 15 after weeks of turmoil on campus.
“Our students emphasized that these smaller-scale, school-based celebrations are most meaningful to them and their families,” the New York-based school said in a statement Monday. “We will focus our resources on those school ceremonies and on keeping them safe, respectful, and running smoothly.”
