That's because the reality is that democracy IS the greatest threat to military industrial complex, their shareholders and to the corrupted members of government. It is a distortion of the reality destined to convince people that democracy is the government, it is not. Majority of people don't want wars. They want their tax money used to make their lives better and to develop their country not to kill innocents and to enrich a handful of bilionnaires. So for people to keep accepting this nonsense, they are kept disinformed, ignorant of their rights and duties, propagandized, scared and divided.
