Fantastic lecture. I admire the way Prof Mamdani offers a bird's eye view of the long history of Sudan and Dar Fur, the colonial period and the more recent crises. Establishes clearly that the politicization of ethnicity is not ancient and inevitable, but rather profoundly shaped by the colonial misconceptions and instrumentalization!
