I'm thoroughly enjoying this series, and taking some amusement at the number of commentators who are more concerned with presentation than the actual content. Those folks are invited consider the fact that a confident manner has no correlation with competence.

I've been watching these in order (for those complaining about the content being exclusive- see the first video; he's well aware of the challenges on the subject of "world history"). I listen to these at x1.25% it makes things more enjoyable for me.

Sounds like the camera was too close to the fan or the air con. Or maybe the camera got dropped and there’s a wire loose. Or a particle got stuck in the mic. This was recorded 10 years ago - possibly by a student? - but definitely not a film student! Maybe the Prof himself set the camera up on a tripod, pressed record and started talking. Who knows?

Hellenism influenced parts of the Persian empire due to the military might and commerce of the Athenians. Particularly, their dominance of the Mediterranean was the determining factor.

Okay Kiddies. He speaks poorly, and this video singly has audio issues. Yes, he doesn't have an orator's voice, and he says UHHH every 10 seconds. I find it irritating too. Now, his talking of writing and its development, making reference to new writing systems in the modern era and how it affects understanding is very interesting. Yeah, he talks about Greeks here, in the time when they controlled Iran, parts of the Indian world. Get over it.

Why is this series called "History of the World to 1500 CE" when he talks about modern Turkey and modern India. I really think the title is misleading. I'd really like to learn something about early world history, but this clearly isn't the place.
