Saw JST last night in San Diego. A tour de force! Quite possibly the best set I've ever seen. This girl has it all. Incredible voice and song selection, she covered blues, rock, funk and country genres and lit it up! Great band, incredible talent, can't wait to see her again.

This girl can play no doubt, I have or had only imagined if she was the student what the teacher impressed to achieve her talent, and of his or her background because this beyond cloning the feeling is real,the attitude also but you can't teach humility when you're out to make it you got no choice it's survival of the fittest,''Don't Forget That'' it's her cross to bear!

Does the name Eric Clapton mean anything to you? How about Jimmy Page or Jeff Beck? Those two with Clapton, each played with the Yardbirds in the UK. What about Pete Townsend? Have you ever heard of Mark Knopfler or Matt Schofield? I could go on, but why? You see my point. The UK is not some vast wasteland lacking talented blues guitarists nor talented guitarists in general.

Joanne is great so is Ana Popovic. I don't claim to be blues expert but for me Joanne has a harder style on her albums, more in the "Free" style. Ana is looser more Texan Blues like Stevie Ray Vaughn. I think both Free and Stevie are great so they are both fine by me and I hope they both come over and play Ireland soon!

Part of playing the blues is the way you paly them and your body language. she's great and has mojo1 shes hot to boot! I'll bet there are more female blues players than you think and they don't come to trhe front. i just found Joanne about 20 mins ago thru amazon. great find.

@fairlyfastfreddie1 What she's playing is a based around a classic 3 chord 12 bar blues structure and her soloing is using mostly pentatonic scales. Most definitely the Blues - with some Rock & Roll thrown in.

the hair tossing kinda and fancy hand moves make her seem sort of phony. She sounds like a lot of the good local guitar players in my area, but nothing mind=blowng. But it's nice to see a chick play lead on a telecaster.

Love Joanne on that tele. She get's such a raw, gutsy sound & it suits her excellent right hand attack. Not a fan of the LP, where she sounds more mellow & polite. Regardless, she's an incredible blues musician.
