President Draupadi Murmu administered oaths to the Central Council of Ministers of the new NDA government on Sunday (June 9). Led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the COM is larger in strength compared to the previous term, featuring 30 cabinet ministers, five Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and 36 Ministers of State.

Article 74(1) states that there shall be a Council of Ministers with a Prime Minister at the head to aid and advise the President.

So, total ministers in India cannot exceed 81. Is it correct? What about state with other political parties? The ministers of such states would also be checked by cabinet ministers?

Yes. The limit is 15% of total MLAs of legislative assembly. Upto 15% the council of ministers can extend. [Art 164 1A] For instance, if a state has total of 200 MLA seats then the Council of ministers can be at maximum 30 And minimum number of Council of ministers should be 12. For instance, in Manipur there is only 60 MLA seats, then counting 15%, we get 9. But, there is 12 council of ministers according to same article of Constitution.

@@sivaram.333 Bro I am too a Aspirant. You just take any book for polity like laxmikanth or any other. Read from cover and cover. Don't take notes at first time reading. Instead of that better to take important points of each page can be written on that same book page itself like corners of the page. Read the same book for twice or thrice then take notes which are all difficult to remember. This one I followed bro
