Lol @ dumping chits into a full cup. I once put a mug full of coffee into the cabinet since I was putting away dishes. Luckily my wife didn’t spill all over herself when she pulled that mug out of the cabinet a few days later!

Man, I wish this tutorial was played with the boardgame, and not the vassal. The vassal confuses me. I guess I'll go back to the rulebook. :(

So the video tutorial says to start by reading Section 1.2. And the first sentence of Section 1.2 says, "First time players may wish to skip this section." So which is it?

This is Joel. Hello! You can't go wrong by reading the rulebook. :-) So if you want to read about all the components, go ahead and read section 1.2. Otherwise, skip it for now.

Thanks, Joel! The rules are very clear, but the concepts were a bit hard to grasp at first. Airbags were deployed when I hit the aforementioned section, and I found the videos less intimidating. I wish GMT would build these for all their releases! In any event, the elegance of the game didn't reveal itself until I actually played. I'm very impressed.

I see no point in this video at all. Why show us a static VASL screen rather than doing it properly? I struggled through the first 6 minutes until the coffee cup joke. That's enough.

Maybe just use the printed Tutorial that comes in the game. Lots of folks have enjoyed the video tutorials but I recognize they are not for everyone. I'm not a movie producer either so just gotta do the best with what I have! Glad you are enjoying the game!

I haven't actually starting to play the game yet because I haven't yet got my head around the rulebook - which is why I was looking for how-to-play videos. I appreciate you trying to help noobs get into the game, but I have a very low capacity to keep focused on a static screen with a voiceover.

There's not a lot to show on the first video because I'm just going over some intro mechanics. Future have increasingly more screen action and less static narration.
