I think this is a good move for the channel and part of a larger exodus in the DoomTuber scene. Clippy Clippington is also switching things up and will be a Minesweeper channel now. Good times!

Thanks for another entertaining playthrough. I was giggling like a madman every time the slasher guys got to you 😂. I admire your shotgun-only attempt. I couldn't win that either. You're supposed to hold down the mouse for the plasma cannon. It's like a full auto rocket launcher with smaller splash damage.

yeah, totally! I remember Combat Instinct 3 felt like a quantum leap for flash games. But then funnily enough some of Tom Fulp's games started to feel like an even bigger leap, like alien hominid and dad n' me.

@@CIinbox I really don't know and I'm just curious. Was flash programming like a hobbie that you did on your free time, or was it like your job at that time? You may not be amazing, but you don't seem to be bad. The game looks pretty good.

flash could do quite a lot of complicated stuff because actionscript was pretty powerful IIRC. But still, I agree much harder than modern gamemakers like unity/unreal etc.

@@BeefGeeTV I was terrible at action script. Almost all the 'programming' was done in keyframes themselves, almost all of it being 'goto' and 'telltarget' commands. Did you think your health % is a variable? Nope, keyframes :D. With CI3 being a more randomized experience every time you play, it resulted in a lot of jank that I just couldn't work around.

I do remember being hyped by Halo when I made this. That game was still in development back then. The promotional material they put out had definitely influenced the look and feel of combat instinct 3.
