An unusually really good scene for Little John: 0:40 - 1:45 Lennon should never have been posted to a front line unit. He suffers from innate fear or possibly from very early infantile abuse. As a clerk/typist in the rear he would have released a man more able. Cline is a real horror - an example of the worst kind of human being - an infantile egoist.

I have always enjoyed the t.v. Combat series and Sgt. Saunders! But I have always wondered why he doesnt carry any ammo pouches for his Tommy gun!

I'm assuming this series was filmed mostly in California instead of Europe. The terrain, plants, and trees are more like that found in California, and much of the architecture (wood bridge construction, etc) is very American.

That's a good point. It's hard to say because we don't how we are going to react until we get in situations like combat or other life and death scenarios.

Saunders always comes through, never fails, every mission a success, so why is he STILL A SERGEANT,. He should be a major by now at least.

Mainly because it is a tv show.That's just the character he is playing. In reality, he would be promoted. And besides, once you reach a certain age, they will pull you out of the active combat zone because you are not as fast as you were when you were younger. Combat is a young man's game and you have to be able to move and react quickly in combat situations.

If you follow the story line he is not eligible for further promotion. He's been a Sargent since Africa, but was busted too many times. Not a good garrison soldier...
