One of the best. Excellently written, even better than usual. The remarks about a sergeant's rights in the field, and even more Little John's comments about leadership qualities are top notch. Lennon's character both well written and well acted. Thanks once again to VariousVideos for uploading this series.

spacepatrolman - I’ll agree with you on the B & W historic film footage. Call me strange but I find these colored episodes make the ground cover (plants, rocks, trees, etc.) clearer, and a whole lot easier to see what is a prop and what is real. I also like to see how they match the real landscape colors and studio shots pretending to be outside. These episodes make me LOL, ‘cause you can identify the same hill, road, lake, fence, ditch, etc. over & over again in each separate show.

B&W looked better. It has more of a movie feel and hides anachronisms and budget issues. In the color versions all the exteriors look like popular Los Angeles area hiking trails which is what they are. That opening sequence was shot in downtown LA. They used that footage at the top of the very last episode as well. All that footage they shot of that demolished building was too good to waste.

Even supporting cast is better also. Cage, kirby. Little John and the medic. O what a show

I love that line where the busted SGT says, "I didn't get these stripes for nothing"... and Saunders replies..., "I bet you didn't lose them for nothing either". lol.

I don't think that the use of color in this season detracts from the quality of the episodes. It may be that because most of the real action video that we've seen of WW2 action was in B&W we subconsciously equate B&W to realism. If done carefully, as I believe it was done here, color can be as realistic as B&W in these WW2 stories. B&W may offer an artistically talented director certain cinematographic advantages in style of expression. For example: I can't imagine "Casablanca" done in color.

First time I ever heard of this show was my dad talking about it. I didn’t start watching it till my ex girlfriends US Senator Elizabeth Warren started to degrade it in a speech, I figured if she hated the show it can’t be all bad. I’ve been hooked ever since

It is ok to hate war. But as long as people like EW are among us, there will always be wars. Wars cannot exist without hate! She is too emotionally possessed to ever have common sense enough to figure herself out! Hate blinds common sense.

I vote B&W are better. I agree, color looks like California. If you look close you can see Andy and Opie fishing next to the bridge :) Or the StarTrek episode where Kirk joins the Indians.

Oh yea, Kirk falls in love (again) with the Indian girl, loses his memory. And the Obelisk they use to deflect the oncoming asteroid.

@soldtobediers4 жыл бұрын
That one forced me to research C-3... C-4 (explosive) - Wikipediaen.wikipedia.org › wiki › C-4_(explosive) Jump to Development - The original RDX based material was developed by the British during World War II, and redeveloped as Composition C when introduced to US military service. It was replaced by Composition C-2 around 1943, and later redeveloped around 1944 as Composition C-3.

Considering that the writers have complete choice of names, it is odd that the name of the poor soul who could not fight was what it was -- remember this is 1967 and famous people had that name. As for him being scared, he is braver than me....I couldn't handle it either.

Correct, very few if anything in Hollywood is original. It's all either remakes of movies for the 2 and 3rd time of movies from 20-40 years (or longer) ago. Or just blatant stealing of plot themes. What do you expect.

ccsra5 - I think I know what’s wrong with these colored ones. It’s my old colored tube TV. On KZbin they come out crystal clear, much nicer to watch. I’m a bit behind the times; my son criticizes why I don’t get a new flat screen. I tell him, “If it aint brock …” By the way he also yells at me ‘cause I don’t have a cell phone ether. These exchanges here are about as technological as I get. LOL
