Some people are confused about what this video is. This is my friend who is a veteran of both wars in Iraq as well as Somalia(black hawk down) playing this game for the first time. He rarely plays video games but I thought it would still be a fun video. This was not intended to be expert gameplay. Unfortunately we did have issues with the audio but this is a brand new system with a learning curve. for more gaming videos go to John Hickok TV on KZbin.

Could of been a Marine, they were there too, not during the battle of Mogadishu, but there none the less, but if John says he was there at the time of the Battle of Mogadishu I think we know who Derrick was (;
@johnhickok458 жыл бұрын
Cinnabun He was in the Army. If you listen to some of my old podcast episodes he talks about it. He was part of a crew that was refuling helicopters just outside of the city when all hell broke loose. I think he said he fired his first shots in combat there but I don't know if it was during that initial battle. I'm thinking he said it was a day or two after. I'll have to ask him about it again.

***** Exactly. Now a days, about less than 20% of the fighting force ever see combat. Most of them are simply stationed at some base, others going on patrols, some of them working military jobs putting them away from the action. It's just how it is today and its a good thing too.

It's pretty common for people to think video games can bring back memories from war, or even trigger a veterans PTSD. I love bf1 but I can tell you, it's nothing like real combat. It's really impossible to make a video game that is remotely realistic when it comes to real military engagements. The most authentic combat game I've played is Arma and even that isn't even close.

I like Squad but people need to stop confusing it with a milsim, it's not. It has the most authentic combat but doesn't have the 30 minutes of walking or 20 stances that Arma does. It's like Arma but cutting off 70% of the "simulator" and refining it to a balance between realistic gameplay and simulation.
