Hi there, great video as I am in prep to do my own van conversion on a T6! I notice that you didn't sound deaden or insulate the floor? is this normal practice or just missed from the video as I am struggling to find anything on it! Also does the Combo bundle come with enough to also do the floor (if it needs done) or is it just the walls? Thanks for any help, enjoying the series so far!

Great vids 👍

Great videos, I’m thinking of opening up my 1982 T3 and re doing the sound and insulation lining. Listing with headphones, at the end of the video, it sounds like the Left and Right audio channels are switched.

Hi guys, what do you normally do about the metal bracket that is on the other wheel arch? Do you grind it off?
@CombeValleyCampers2 ай бұрын
It can be ground off neatly, or carpeted around. We cover this in our latest carpeting video :)

Thanks for these brilliant videos. Im about to convert my new Ford Connect L2. I'm wondering how you approached the roof? Just the same?

Great video guys, very helpful. Also just found your podcast so enjoying listening to this while working on my van. Quick question, sorry if I missed it but is the closes cell roll more for sound deadening or heat insulation. I know it will do a bit of both but I’m not planning to sleep in my van just looking to improve the acoustics inside so wasn’t sure if it’s worth it or not. Cheers again guys.

Hi! The closed cell foam is both for sound absorption, and heat insulation. The matting is for sound deadening
@JamieHarris19832 ай бұрын
oh man, i used the liner as the deadening thinking thats what it is. I wish i saw this video first. im so deflated now
@bid84Ай бұрын
Just keep going, the liner will provide a lot of deadening

Do you insulate the roof at all?
@Jonbaker6664 ай бұрын
How much difference is there in these products compared to the regular dodo matt in terms of quality/benefits and the price for say a LWB t5.1? Is it worth saving money to get a less effective outcome or spend the extra and not benefit massively from it?

How many dodo sheets did you use on the sides

Recently l bought the dodo pro thermal liner 10mm. I bought this with the impression that that is all would need. I was going to put recycled plastic insulation in the places the dodo mat wouldn't reach. Am I right in thinking this?
@CombeValleyCampers3 ай бұрын
Yes that would be ideal. In reality, the more you put in, over and above factory insulation and sound deadening will be an improvemnent. Leigh

What is the total weight of the kit (i.e. the extra weight you add to the car)?
@r1h1494 ай бұрын
30-40kg... hexmat/deadezy 10kg per box, 2 boxes. Duo 10kg. Thermoliner and fleece weigh next to nothing, say 3kg

Do Transporters have sound deadening in the cab?
@motiv81544 ай бұрын
As standard no, and a lot of people miss it out because of the amount of work involved i.e. removing the seats the cab flooring, ceiling, the covers over the seat belts etc. But apparently it makes a huge difference 👍🏽 I haven't done it yet either 🙈

My 6.1 has factory sound deadening on the panels. Perhaps this is what the mysterious ‘enhanced sound reduction’ means on the build notes.
