Carried out this upgrade today myself, found the video very helpful. As my bus is LHD I had to make a small hole behind the glovebox to route the cables to the battery, this was made easier by unplugging them from the relays and going inside to out. Thanks fellas.

Good stuff, just about to try and fit it. Just a little question, you make no mention about removing the balast resistor until you fit the earth plug. Is it a case of just removing the resistor? How come we don't need it any more?

Love your T25 video mate really helps with my vw T25 build

I have a diesel T25 with round headlights. According to your excellent video, I would need to run the cable to the battery in the engine space. However, I also have a leisure battery under the seat. Can I attach the headlights to that directly or does it depend on how the leisure battery is set up?

Awesome video. I guess this will make the lights brighter?

Another great video. Is there a before and after picture so we can see how much brighter they are?

IMO its much easier to route the lead outside under the floor and through the main battery cable grommet. All accessible from under with the spare wheel and battery removed.
@CombeValleyCampers4 жыл бұрын
It's a good alternative route for sure. In this van it had a welded in spinning seat base so access to the battery and surrounding areas is super tight

Hi great video, thinking of buying the kit because of the vid. how do you connect the kit to the headlight switch? dont think its shown in the video. cheers

That is my question, too. I was hoping it might be a new switch and I could bypass my problematic headlight switch system but cannot see.

Hi,I cannot find any screws in the location were you fitted the earth wire?
@CombeValleyCampers4 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham, you will find the headlight ballast resistor beneath the drivers side headlamp. Unplug that and remove it from the van. The resistor is held in by a metal clamp. Remove the bracket with the large screw and use that screw to hold your earth down. If your van does not have this feature you may have to create a new earth by drilling a new hole
@grahamblundell17004 жыл бұрын
@@CombeValleyCampers thanks for reply. There was a vacant hole there so guess I mustn't have had one fitted. All fitted and working now. Video was a massive help thank you 👍

Just bought this and was going start installing it but... 1) My van is LHD, should I start from the right or left light? On the instruction it says you should start from the closest side to the battery (in my case the battery is on the right side, like in your van, but the steering wheel and hole to pass wires is on the opposite side!) 2) It looks like the previous owners had already fiddled with the cables and it's also being hacked together. Is it worth trying to understand what's going on there or just add the loom at the end of it? Thanks

Great video, very impressed! And, I bought the upgrade from Campervan Culture for my 1988 square head-lamped Wolfsburg T3/T25 LHD. Quick question? If my T3 is a LHD, does my male socket fit to the opposite side to what you have installed on a RHD? Or, is it the same as per your video? Thank you!

You can fix this problem with two H4 80/95W bulbs. Will save you a lot of hassle and money.

Could this kit potentially be used on Mk2s with the 4-lamp grille with the high beams? Loom looks very similar to ones available for Mk2s with 2-lamps but figured this one would work if you have the high-beams too
@CombeValleyCampers3 жыл бұрын
I would say yes. In some areas the cables would need to be shortened as the battery is in the engine bay, but I feel it would work in the same manner
