Varanashi Organic Farms currently extends for about 100 Acres over two properties, with seven irrigation ponds, as well as a river and a riverlet adjoining one of the properties. Crop plantations are maintained within the natural vegetation of the area, and 60% of the farms is still untouched forest. Crops like Arecanut, Coconut, Cocoa, Nutmeg, Banana, Black Pepper, Jackfruit etc. are grown in a multi-story system. In addition, different types of vegetables, fruits, flowers are also grown. Rice is organically cultivated during the rainy season for sale and our own consumption.
The illustrious story of Varanashi Organic Farms, handed down by over six generations of the Varanashi family, begins more than 200 years ago, when in 1816 King Lingaraju, Ruler of Kodagu, gifts a large piece of land and a big house in the Moodambailu area to one of his favorites, a wiseman by the name of Jyothishi.
Thirumaleshwari Amma, one of the female members of this family, marries Varanashi Krishnayya and settles at Moodambailu. Their son Varanashi Subraya Bhat and grandson Varanashi Krishna Moorthy manage the property in subsequent years and name it Varanashi Farms. Partha Varanashi is the youngest heir in this family to take the family tradition forward. A coach for Team India in the 2019 Aquatic World Championships, he champions movement sports and aquatic education at the farm.
Sahakari Rathna Shri Varanashi Subraya Bhat is the inspiration behind the establishment and the development of Varanashi Development and Research Foundation (VDRF) and its sister concerns. Shri Bhat is a well-known personality in the field of Cooperative movement in South India. He is the founder of CAMPCO Ltd. - today, one among the co-operative giants in India. He was the President of the CAMPCO from its inception in 1972 to 1990.
Inspired by his achievements, his son Dr. Varanashi Krishna Moorthy has promoted the VDRF, VOM, and VAST Centre. Varanashi Farms is the Family Agricultural property. Dr. Ashwini Krishna Moorthy and their son Partha Varanashi are actively involved and equally responsible for the development of the Varanashi Concerns. Partha Varanashi brings movement and aquatic education to the farm (and beyond) through the Varanashi Swimming Academy and Stoked India Adventures.
It is interesting to note that the family name “Varanashi”, incessantly confused with “Varanasi”, does indeed originate from the name of the Indian spiritual capital Benares. However, generations have passed and the Varanashis are now indigenous to Bantwal Taluk of D.K District, Karnataka. Over the years, subsequent generations of Varanashis have proven themselves innovators and visionaries, transforming their ancestral property to keep up with the changing times.

Phantastic ! In Germany this kind of agriculture without pesticides and chemical fertilizers was introduced 100 years ago by Rudolf Steiner. And in Germany this kind of agriculture has grown against industrial agriculture because its vegetable and fruits are by far superior and the best of the best. What is necessary is the teaching of this organic food production at all universities world wide. There are places where it is done. Look at SECEM in Egypt where the desert is transformed already for 40 years into a green area with a forest and agriculture all based upon Bio Dynamic agriculture without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In Auroville, in the South of India, it is the same.

I think that a healthy society is based on healthy individuals! Unfortunately here in Hungary, most people are unconscious about the quality of the food they eat and they underestimate the daily vitamin and micronutrient intake. I want to grow bigger so that I can help the Hungarian people because the situation here is quite disappointing.

It is great to see a Hungarian in the comments section, friend. I just returned from Budapest after having to live there for the entire 2020. I did love the place but due to circumstances couldn't travel around much. With respect to your intention, I would love to discuss more in person and hopew we can get connected beyond this platform here. Look forward to hearing at your earliest convenience!

The way you have explained about Nature and farming is impeccable.Wish we all live in midst of nature. The layer farming is explained in a very good way.Someone complained about origin of Cocoa and I have noticed that you have corrected it as well.India has been invaded and exploited by a lot of people around the world so the origin of Cocoa doesn't matter much because they took a lot from India and never credited us for it.The reference to Winston Churchill about World War and how it triggered famine in India is very true.India was not involved in world War but only because of leaders like Churchill India was forced to involve and India lost people and resources which was meant for India.People literally lived on Jackfruit is something to be told to all. Overall your knowledge is very good to pass to next generation

There's no way they would allow something like this here in America. They'll take too many profits from corporations. They'll find a way to outlaw it once enough of them get established. It would be the best and most effective way to get rid of Monsanto and all the other companies making a profit off of something we could entirely provide to humanity in abundance.

I searched and got online information that Bauhinia leaves are edible. Please confirm whether it is edible in large quantity (or please suggest any other tree). My design concept was to design monoculture of one of trees from bauhinia family (edible leaves evergreen in all seasons) along with fruit forest mix of fruit trees (which are seasonal)and rest of the place left for wild zone. So design contains all three zones Monoculture zone, Fruit Forest zone and wild zone. Is bauhinia leaves edible?

Theo broma is Greek not Latin. Mexico, the country of origin is in North America not South America, but it is considered as in Latin America. Thus far you have flunked languages, geography, and history. You have thoroughly demonstrated what passes for erudition in Hindustan, specifically in Varanashi Farms.

Hey bro! I made it about 11 minutes through and haven't really heard any mention of Vedic practices or any science. I'm a little confused by claiming that eating organic is beneficial because you are eating ancient molecules and it is something I'm having difficulty understanding. What molecules would I be consuming if I eat inorganic? Newer molecules? I'm commenting because you seem to have such an interest in making videos and connecting with incredible people yet there is a misconnect between what you're producing and what you're advertising. Dig deep and stick with what interests you- chances are it will interest the rest of us!
