What if you are using another shipping company, can you still combine shipping and send an invoice. Example, I am in Canada and don't use eBay for shipping. I use a cross border shipper. Every sale goes through them. I print my labels from them not eBay. I also do flat rate shipping too. So if someone orders two items, is it possible to invoice them and input the amount you want without using the companies listed for shipping with eBay?

Hey Jason Hayes, I’ve been new to eBay since last summer and have been doing well in my eBay sells. But, I recently came to an occurrence where an eBay buyer bought three items in my store and I still can’t figure out of how to send a partial refund and do combined shipping when the buyer had already paid for them.

Congrats on getting your ebay journey rolling! Go to the shipping page where all the items show "Paid". Select all 3 items that were purchased from same buyer. Choose "purchase shipping label". This will take you to ebay's bulk shipping option. At the top, you'll see an option to combine the order into 1. That resolves the combined shipping part. To send a refund, go back to the transaction. There should be a dropdown arrow next to the order. Click that and look for "send refund". Once you choose that, you'll be able to send however much back to the buyer. Hope that helps, Stark! Jason

You can always send a message to the seller that you'd like to bundle items together and see if they're willing to work with you on that. I've received several messages like this in the past and have always responded letting the buyer know I'll combine shipping. You'll likely get a better discount too :)

There’s a $10.00 fee to do the $5.00 refund if the buyer has already paid. That’s what’s aggravating, the seller gets a $10.00 fee to refund a buyer for combine shipping. The buyer needs to buy the item, not pay, message buyer and ask them to send the invoice with combine shipping then pay. Right?

I see this right after I click apply, as in; I’ll select both listings to be combined into the same order but since buyer has already paid the shipping charge is different and they now need a refund. When I clicked apply for combining the listings a window pops up asking me, “are you sure you want to do the partial shipping refund because there’s a $10.00 fee?” I’m forced to click “ok” or “cancel.” Right now, I have a person with items in their cart and I can’t see that. I can’t combine listings easily like you’ve shown here at all. Unless that comes with time?

I figured out what the problem was. It’s that I was so new I didn’t have seller hub yet. I know it comes after your first sale but I never knew it unlocked more options. Once I started using seller hub everything appeared as shown. Without your video and help I would’ve been lost, twice! Lol

Ebay shipping is so fucking archaic. Etsy does combined shipping automatically. I'm trying to set up combined shipping BEFORE they buyer pays. No matter what I do when I go to test it out ebay tries to charge $4.50 for each item in my cart. I can't figure out how to get ebay to just fucking work, i'm so fed up with it! I want someone to see they will only be charged one $4.50 charge for the whole order, not $13.50 for the three items which will show up in the same box.

Jason, I have most all my items listed as "requires immediate payment" with buy it now. Will this first option still work, or will I have to un-check this on the listings that the buyer is interested in? I've been using the second option after the buyer paid to give shipping discount. Just looking for a better way. Thanks

Kendall, Great Question! Since your store is setup like mine (Require Immediate Payment), this first option will only work if you and buyer agree to an offer and before they submit payment. Sometimes I have somebody who purchases 2 items at full price, which requires them to pay at checkout. I will then use option 2 (refund). Thanks for your comment!

I think it’s unreasonable for customers to ask for this in some cases. I post things at .99 cent 7 day bid with 4.99 shipping cuz I make a cut on the shipping costs. When someone buys 13 of my items at .99 cents that shipping cost doubles my profit. I posted them at that price for a reason, I didn’t ask for you to buy 13
