COMBINE STUCK IN DEEP MUD ***BURIED***

Lots of people have been asking to see more Momma Cornstar, so she starts this video off right away with home made bread that she made. We all love Mom's home made bread.
After we visit Mom, we jump back to the farm where we needed to get the semis and the Oliver 1950 warmed up. We checked fluids and oils and added the needed substances. We started unloading a semi after that and topped off vehicles with diesel fuel.
Once we got to the combines in the field, we checked over the machines, checked the moisture of the soybeans, and then started combining. We have a lot of things to learn about this farm because it is new to all of us. Presley took this advice with a grain of salt and got the 2017 John Deere S680 stuck and Dalton also got our 1991 Case IH 7140 pulling a 2019 Brent V700 grain cart stuck as well.
Cooper ended up blowing a hydraulic line on our 2001 Case IH 2388 and Presley finished up on the field we were on. We convoyed down the road to our next bean field. Daddy Cornstar took off to get parts and gives some words of wisdom on the way there. We combined the last of this soybean field and ran into minor issues until Presley got the John Deere S680 stuck.
Presley crossed a waterway in a wet area with a trench through the middle and the combine simply got hung up and would not move. It took a 1982 Massey Ferguson 4840 4WD to pull it out along with a 2014 New Holland T8. The combine did not have any damage. It was late in the morning when the combine finally got pulled out so we decided to call it a night.

You obviously haven't been on some of the soils that we farm, you can be driving along where it looks dry on top and step the clutch down and the tractor is up to the frame without even spinning a wheel. The variability comes from what the glaciers left behind with sand pockets.

Great video that brings back many memories. Many years ago, we ran five combines in the Texas blacklands and farmed around 5,000 acres. The old saying is that if you stick with blackland when it's dry, it will stick to you when it's wet. We had two identical 7720s, a 6600 and two 4400s. We never took the headers off to move from Field to field. We could move in and out of those little farms and never miss a beat. One of the 7720s had rear wheel drive hydraulic assist. It would go through wet ground that stopped the two wheel drive. We put huge rice tires on the two wheel drive 7720 and it made an amazing difference. If we were not careful, we could spin the rims inside the tires and end up with a flat in boggy ground. I finally drilled studs one foot apart though the edge of the rims and into the tires and that made them bullet proof. Over time, we learned to never combine wet ground with any more than 1/3 of a hopper. Continuously dumping is a hell of a lot better than getting stuck. We did not have trouble with milo and corn during the summer. Our trouble was harvesting hard red winter wheat during wet springs. Anyway, like Bob Hope, sang, "Thanks For The Memories". Glad that pull worked out for you. Grandpa dropped a tire in a big ditch years ago and we had to have a crane come out. Not a word was said to Grandpa he felt pretty bad. I use that memory in hard times.

be sure that you create a long rope to the farthest forward tractor.. that goes under the closest tractor to the stuck combine.. with another rope from the closest tractor to the combine.. so the tractor in the middle is NOT being stretched and the ropes are NOT being overloaded.. there could be a snapped rope issue to the tractors too..
