Thanks for continuing this great series. I'm really enjoying(even looking it up at online game stores, but certainly cannot afford at moment) this series. I also hope you will continue your TSWW tutorial series as I need all the help I can get for it😊

Thanks! And yes, you can expect more TSWW videos this year. I've had to set it aside for the past couple of months to concentrate on GOSS in preparation for Winterfest last week, but now my GOSS mastery is reaching a comfortable level, I'll have time to turn my attention back to TSWW. Stay tuned!

@@thetabletopsedge Excellent news, you just seem to have a knack for saying or wording things in a way I can understand and find entertaining. Teaching is a great but unfortunately unrewarded skill. Well at least in Scotland,cant speak for anywhere else. Keep up the videos,much appreciated!!

It’s so great to see another video from you on this series. Thank you very much for your time and hard work on this! I did notice for the Italian minor economic resource agreement, to get both resources from Yugoslavia would be doubled in cost to 8. Not sure if I saw that incorrectly or not.

I have an excel spreadsheet I can send if you want, in it Fra has 0, Ita 0, Jap -5 and Ger 2. Jan-Feb for instance I think you missed to deduct the 4 buildpoints used by Japan for the CV and Pilot

Thanks for another interesting episode! Did the conquest of Peking have any effect on US entry? I hope you have a great Winterfest!
@thetabletopsedge

The short answer is: yes. In fact, Japan has been subject to a die roll each turn, which I have not shown (but will include that in future videos) for being at war with a democratic MP. Also, every time Japan captures a city, it is subject to that die roll again. The result is a change in US Entry by anywhere from -1 to +5. There is a +1 to the die roll for every 6 turns the MP has been at war with the Democrat MP, as well as for each additional MP at war with the Democrat. I'll be sure to show the table in the next video I film.

Why didnt Germany get two resources when they made an agreement with Sweden? Also the cost for Italy is 8 points, not 4, but she can do it in one agreement wich is a plus

some tough choices in this episode.

Yes, the situation is starting to reach the point where some major decisions will have to be made by several MP's, with the very real consequences of a major war breaking out as a result of their decisions.

Hello, I have a question regarding the chinese communists in days of decision. As you said in the video, they go during the Communist impulses. From what I can see in the rulebook, they are controlled by the Soviet player. Do the Soviets control them through the whole game? And if so, do they use the soviet action limits or the chinese during those impulses (and if they use Soviet action limits, do they share the pool of actions with them)?
@thetabletopsedge
@thetabletopsedge 8 ай бұрын
Your understanding is correct. The ChiComs are in the Communist faction and are controlled by the USSR. They move in the Communist impulse. They remain under USSR control for the entire game. And they use Soviet Action Limits, sharing them. For instance, if the Soviets choose a Combined action type, then any ChiCom land unit that moves will count against the total of 5 land moves allowed.

Yess so cool to see the next part of this series! Loving the action :) Btw, what happened to the French pilot that was created at the start of this turn? You mentioned the CW one is being saved on the track for the carrier planes, but you didn't say what the French one is doing - they do seem to have land planes in the reserve pool...
@thetabletopsedge

I'm pretty sure he was used to place an aircraft unit on map. Just looked at the Reserve Pool, and by N/D'38 the only French aircraft in it is a CVP (waiting on a CV to be finished).

Very interesting how RNG can make such a difference in the way things can evolve. As I read the CE rules I find so many changes made for "playability" that it feels so much like a dumbing down of the game in general. CE has wonderful components, but so many of the historically important, (but less well known), aspects of the war are lost to the new rules. Seemingly small changes but more like stripping the brush stokes from a masterpiece. I'm currently use CE rules, but find them less developed than those for FE. Thanks again for such a great lets play.
@thetabletopsedge
@thetabletopsedge Жыл бұрын
I tend to agree with you regarding many of the CE rule changes, although I do think the FE rules were a step backwards from 5th edition. I don't agree with many of the changes ostensibly made for "playability" reasons. Usually because the burden of the old rule was minimal compared to the game effect. And you are completely right that something is lost when rules are modified to become "simpler". WiF has had beautiful components since the early 1990's, but WiFCE has the best physical components of any edition yet. I have not yet sat down and down a piece-by-piece force pool comparison between FE and CE, but I do know that there have been some changes. I'm curious as to whether the force pool modifications have improved or hurt the game. If I ever do get the time to do such a force pool comparison, I'll definitely make a video and share my findings.

@@thetabletopsedge I had a quick look at the CE components and from what I noticed is that most changes appear in the kits like TiF, SiF, DiF. The removal of most of the convoy in flames content and minor changes to the WiF components like CBV has left space for more divisions, (including for many minors), guns, and territorials. I have a feeling that the extra units represent about two counter sheets of content. Otherwise minor changes like lower or higher factors in some PiF values, (Polish GS value from 3 to 2 for their L2 bombers), or changing the Bulgarian L3 to a F2 with much lower values. I must admit that some units added will never, or almost never be used like the German Madagascar territorial, or removing some FF CBV to add a Martinique territorial. It would be nice if they came up with an expert kit for players like me. I have started a 39-45 game on the FE vassal using the CE rules and except for a few things it works well. I did adopt you CP movement house rule as it makes sense. Thanks for you comments.
