I had 70 locs that I combed out by myself. It took me two weeks and my locs were 17 months old.what I did was when I came home from work I committed to at least 2 a night and many more on the weekends. I do have a very active 8 year old and husband as well...lol. But I had the same tools as you BUT i also saturated my hair with detangler and i did the method where I filled up a plastic cup with oils, conditioner, detangler, shampoo ANYTHING that would provide slip and i would literally hold the locs in the cup concontion for like 3 minutes rubbing the concoction in so that i could EXTRMEMELY saturate the loc and then i would get busy with that rat tail...the metal end. I was able to retain 22 inches of length and then 20 after my stylist trimmed it. The excessive hair you get out is normal because think we shed like 50 to 100 stands a day that you HAVE NOT shed so it's normal. I had an entire grocery plastic bag full of hair but still had a head full after and I do beleive my hair is thinner than yours. My strands are fine but i have very dense hair often mistaken for " thick hair" good luck Sis. The comb out in itself is a journey!😊😊😊

Thank you for this!!! That really gives me hope lol I’m definitely trying to have mine done in two weeks lol so I have the same plan for sure! I’ll definitely try to soak my locs for a few minutes before I start, thanks a good idea. Thank again!!

Thank you so much!!! Best advice is to leave your hair alone and let it do it's thing! The less product you use, the better. You can really get away with using a light oil on your scalp when it feels dry and then spray with water everyday! Best of luck on your journey!!

This is hard to watch lol!! Nope you’re not doing anything wrong…it’s just a lot of work combing them out. But I’m looking forward to seeing what you decide to do.
