Absolute gold!! I kinda knew this but not in the way you explained but now it makes much more sense and I'm kicking the pants outta this in my practice sessions from now on :)) Thanks Howard!

Terrific lesson Howard! The practice solos were helpful with unique licks I haven’t heard before. The lightbulb moment for me was the flat five walk up (down) among the five and four chords all over the fretboard is going to be big for my blues vocabulary especially the high register section. I haven’t seen it presented that way before. Many thanks!

Awesome, Howard - thanks so much. Dumb question: does this relate to the CAGED system, or not so much?
@aylbdrmadison10515 ай бұрын
The CAGED system shows the notes in the chords of a particular Key. Scales add in the rest of the notes in the Key. You need to learn the scales for sure, & later the CAGED system helps your lines become more melodic. *It's all related,* though. Just take your time to learn them one step at a time. I strongly suggest learning the pentatonic scale first & don't worry about about anything else until you know that. Then learn CAGED or Diatonic scales.

Not really... no - But the idea can be combined.

Brilliant lesson. I’m just new at this sort of thing, but I’ve worked out how you have worked it ask together and I can transpose it to the G. Great backing track. Do you have a backing track in G similar to this? Also do you have some videos on how to use triads with something like this? I appreciate your videos. 😊😊

Hi - There are lots of similar BTs on my Backing Tracks channel. And yes, I'm planning on a Triads Tutorial :-)
