Why don't you make a video about connecting COBOL to SQL, Mr. Moshix? I know for a fact that it is possible, but have been unable to find any information about it anywhere.

I think there must be about a 1000 videos on this subject.

@@moshixmainframechannel Could you please then be so kind as to direct me to one which suits your expert and doctoral taste and criteria? I know that it is possible because I have worked mainly with GNU Open COBOL, and there are some SQL options under the "edit - preferences" tab; I have not managed to land my hands yet on any proper documentation of this IDE. Also, I recall reading on some random website back in 2020, that one of the reasons for creating modules in COBOL is to work out somehow SQL data that finally makes into the main program [there were very few details and no real explanation as to how does this actually work, mind you].

@joseignaciocastrovonrodrig5613 sure. Here is one example: www.microfocus.com/documentation/studio-enterprise-edition/studioee60sp2ws2/Studio%20EE%2060%20SP2%20WS2%20Windows=2=Web%20Help%202016%20(MF)=en/BKSPSPCESCS017.html

@@moshixmainframechannel Mr. Moshix, I will touch on several subjects here; I do know that your main area of interest is not COBOL, but nevertheless, I consider you a true and extremely reliable soure on the subject. I have noted that using GNU Open COBOL is not the best means to practice and learn COBOL because it is very incomplete, limited, and some features are unreliable [a very good example is trying to use the "STOP" instruction]. Anyway, I haven't been able to find even documentation regarding the IDE itself as I mentioned. And yet, it has been a way good enough for me to learn the very basics of COBOL. I would really lve to know how to connect that particular IDE to some SQL system, if possible, if anyone who reads this post knows, please. Then there is the issue about coding COBOL in Visual Studio Code. I know for a fact that it is possible because I watched a COBOL mini free tutorial in Spanish by a Mexican lady here on KZbin back in 2020 and she coded everything by using Visual Studio Code. After that, I have been trying for a long time to install the "COBOL requirements" on my computer so that Visual Studio Code works with it, but for some reason, it has been all to no avail. I have really no idea of what am I doing wrong. At the same time, it is a shame that I have not been able to install the "IBM stuff" for Visual Studio Code, because that would allow me to explore PL/I programming, a language in which I have great interest thanks to your videos. And then about the link you provided me with. It shows how to connect a COBOL program to SQL, but I assume that would be only for some COBOL compiler provided by Microfocus, right?
