No doubt a great video for those who are familiar with InDesign, but not for a beginning like myself.

is there a way to collate two indesign files? One file has odd numbered pages and the other has even pages... Need to combine them so they run in order...

Hello Matthew, nice tutorial! I need an advice if you can help me. I have the company main presentation with 20 pages, that includes pages with all our producs. I want to create variations depending on the scope(for a certain industry). For example I want a new document that will maintain the first introduction pages, keep only selected product pages, and 4 pages that are totally new and also have a diffrent master(with client logo beside ours). I could very simple to copy and paste in place but if in the future i want to modify the introduction, I will have to do it in all variation documents. MY QUESTION: There is a way to link pages from one document to another that if i edit the master document will propagate in "slaves" ? I could work with individual pages and combine them with book function but then it will be a mess to manage them... Thank you very much!

Hey Daniel sorry I just saw this question. Actually didn't think anyone ever watched these videos. You can drop an indesign file into a picture box like any other picture. So each time you edit the original and update modified links the combined document will be updated. You probably already figured this out but I wanted to add it here in case it helps out another.

Hey. People do watch these! I have a question too and I was excited to see that you answered a question just a week ago. Maybe you'll see mine. I have multiple files open and when I go to compile them, the master pages in my master document mess with the new pages I've just added. Does that make sense? How do I keep the pages exactly as they are?

Perhaps you have your master applied to your whole document so it’s adding it to the new pages as well? In order to fix that, you’d have to go into your “masters panel” and apply none to the affected pages.
