You do not need a mana doubler with the ranger though, do you ? The ranger's ability doesn't require him to tap, just tap the ranger and ashaya for 2 forest and bounce the ranger to untap Ashaya. You are still left with an extra forest when you replay the ranger. infinite ETB and infinite green mana

being able to tap the ranger for mana requires it to have haste. it works the way you mentioned with concordant crossroads out

As Edmund said, the ranger will still have summoning sickness when it comes down. But my first thought was the same as yours, that because they are forests, they should be able to tap for mana immediately, but that is not the case with Ashaya.

@@edmundolivier8074 oh excellent point (I feel like a moron now XD). Lightning greaves would work too right (equip it to the ranger when the stack is empty during your main phase)? Concordant crossroads is slight off my budget xD. Lightning greaves would probably be an auto include in a mono green Ashaya deck as well.

@@clanechelon thousand year elixir is good too. though mana doublers might be more budget than haste enablers. stuff like leyline of abundance and vernal bloom. or just having a dork that taps for 2-3+ like joraga treespeaker/llanowar tribe/priest of titania... Lightning Greaves are a great idea

All non token creatures are immediately Forests though when Ashaya enters the battlefield. So if there was already another creature in play from the previous turn besides Ashaya, your idea can still work. And if you are lucky enough that creature was Lotus Cobra then Boom goes the mana engine

I don't think it's too easy for commander. There are a ton of legends that do this more easily already. Ashaya opens up loads of fun strategies to do with land creatures and big mana that will be fun. It depends who you're playing with.

Yeah, I don't think Ashaya is broken. Its a strong and unique design, but the type of design that I appreciate in Commander.
