I love how you can trade in old books for store credit and get new (used) ones! It's like a library where you can keep all your favorites!

Loved Hester! The depiction of needlework and color play as a source of female power and artistic expression is 🫶. Also can't get enough of how synesthesia was being juxtaposed against witchcraft to show how "difference" is often demonized to create pariahs. A brilliant and searing perspective, and I ate it right up!

I’m so envious of a store like this. We have nothing that I know of that is like this in the UK. Amazing idea to get store credit then buy more used books.

I wonder if the Bone Ships is similar to the Liveship Traders at all! The cover certainly seems reminiscent 👀
@kristinaschreiber25032 ай бұрын
I’d say they are similar in a general sense (ships & dragons) but beyond that they differ a lot imo. Both are soo good tho, both are probably in my top 5 series of all time. Funnily enough some editions of the bone ships books do have an endorsement from Robin Hobb on their cover, so they definitely have the same vibes

For once I've read books that Regan hasn't! I read Life After Life with a book club and liked it a lot. Hild is slow and dense but quite good. It was recommended to me by my librarian. A lot of libraries have a form to fill out online and they will recommend you five books. That could be a neat video idea 😉

I'm very curious about your review on the bone ship trilogy. I'm about to start book 2 and definitely liked book 1. It has a lot of fantastic creatures, which I've "seen" in this way before. Also the world building isn't very mainstream and that's good. So it gives vibes of something new.
