At night/early morning, people are employed by the city to clean up the garbage downtown and everyone who comes downtown often, knows this, which is why people throw the garbage on the ground. Also, I hope my vlogging downtown deconstructs common myths, stereotypes and stigmas about the petty crime or the property crime that could occur when downtown. I was fine vlogging! However, my experiences may not be the same for everyone. I loved this experience, wasn't my first or my last! I LOVE jamaica!

The downtown is a high risk area, periodt, and robberies occur multiple times daily, the fights are voracious and people have literally no self respect to the point where you have people shitting on the streetside. Jamaica is a wonderful island and im happy to live here but lets not lie.

Dennis Clark l don’t like to waste time...I’ve sat in a bus Downtown with my cousin for 2+ hours waiting for it to reach maximum capacity. I’ve also taken the Greyhound and Amtrak in Nyc and if the bus schedule says it’s leaving at 11:30 the bus is leaving at 11:30 With or without you, so for ME AND MY TIME it’s the worst feeling where ever I am to sit and wait.

Girl...I recently took one of those route buses for the first time EVER in JA (and I've been coming here for years). We were SQUISHED up....They literally will "create" seats for people...so a maybe 20-seater becomes 30-40 people packed on. Some even stand. This reminded me of the dollar vans in New York... Girl....LOL. An interesting experience that I do not plan to repeat...

Loved the video and I love downtown. If you drive you can find safe paid parking right in the center of downtown. You have to be careful downtown just like anywhere else in the world but the people are nice and energetic. High end and low end fashion available at good prices. Big up yuhself goody💜

@@anneshaadams, the legal system of Jamaica is based on British common-law as Jamaica was colonized by Britain. The Privy Council, like many other colonial vestiges, is one that Jamaica, like many other Caribbean countries, still retains. Recently, Jamaica has been playing with the idea of having the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) replacing the Privy Council altogether. The CCJ- a final appellate court for a few Caribbean countries- is one of the primary institutions of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). This court is also a high court. If you are wondering how I know all this is because I had to do a course called Business Law- a course that had a very high failure rate-at the University of the West Indies, Mona. This course required you to know everything about the judiciary in the Caribbean lol.

So much hustle, bustle and excitement. Nice things to purchase in the stores and on the streets. The vendors and customers need to help the Authorities keep some of those streets litter free though. Annesha I know you mean well by always highlighting Jamaica in a positive light however you should let non-Jamaicans know that if they visit it’s risky bringing their expensive devices down town because it could get stolen.
