I, as and Irish soldier, served with the UN in south Lebanon and there was a farmer there who was both physically and very similar in looks to my Dad who was also a farmer. I showed him and his family a picture of my Dad standing beside a tractor and I could understand from his response he was somewhat emotional but his son translated as best he could. His father's brother had died when he was nine years of age and his Dad had always believed he had just gone somewhere else in the world. Perhaps it was true and more than an notion created by a grieving child but everytime I met him during those months his arms would go around me and greet me like a son.

It's not a big surprise. They're pretty clsoe , Geographically, and many East Africand and people from the Arab Peninsula emigrated to and fro each region. That's why you can also see lighter people in Northern Africa and the middle east. As travel became more sofisticated, people were able to stay in different regions.

Next time keep the genetic print out up on screen for longer to read as its difficult to understand all the english dialectic variants of the participants. Especially for those people who don't have English as first language. Very interesting to see the mixed up gene pools of normal peoples who originally think they were of one nationality. I was surprised by my mixed up genetic DNA results as well and how much Ashkanazi Jewish was present.

@@countrydotcom8892 mainly because they're just not English. It would be like asking why Ukrainians dislike being called Russian or why Portuguese dislike being called Spanish. Also the Irish especially have a very bitter history with the English who stole all the arable land in Ireland, destroyed Gaelic society and committed genocide against them twice (Cromwellian conquest and Potato Famine).

@@DeclinedMercy just to point out that many English people suffered under Cromwell and didn't like him either. The potato famine wasn't a genocide. A genocide is a deliberate attempt to exterminate a population. You'd have to believe that the British government would have the know-how to initiate a potato blight across the whole of Europe just to cover up that they wanted to exterminate the Irish.

To find out im eastern European, 66.3 %Brittish 3.5%irish and Scottish 3.6%scandanavian 2.3 % ashkanasi jew My ancestors were from finland,started.. But i was born in Georgia,USA. I was one to two years old when my mother married a woodall. Cherokee family ,i was adopted and given woodall name. My real dad was a halloway from georgia. I never knew my real dad. I turned 50 and learned all this.. It is said i have family in spain,russia,poland,italy, America,and some even in mexico as second and third cousins. Yeah,i was suprised!! My mother was more British side!😮😮😮
