It was RAW (uncooked) onions that give her heartburn. Poor Jackie didn't like anything much at all. Not appropriate to expell anything onto your plate. The proper way is to expel it onto your fork, then put whatever onto the side of your plate. If whatever is larger than an olive pit, use a napkin as a drape in front of you as you expel whatever onto your fork.
