Yes I find this slightly strange too. I have previously worked with people who are very adamant they never want to go abroad. I think it gives off being cowardly to open your mind to a bigger world than your own.

When I choose to go to a restaurant that claims to represent a specificcountry/ culture I expect to get food as close to the authentic dishes as possible; NOT some bastardised, washed down version of it. If I want my national version of spaghetti, I can make it myself.
