I’m a member married to a non member and I’ve been praying for so many years for my spouse and our children that one day they will join me. But what I’ve learned from this lesson is, that I don’t need to focus on the “product” of my work but to trust and have faith in the process. God is working with me, to mould and shape my life into the person He wants me to be. I’m so grateful for His gospel that teaches me so much about this life and the life to come. Thank you guys for your enlighten and encouragement.❤️

I learned soooo much today! Thank you! I loved that Taylor shared a lot of excellent insights, like the background of Thomas B Marsh, etc. And Tyler also shared so much great information. I loved the insights on why the Lord used analogies from farming, like sheaves to help these New England farmers relate to His instruction for them. My testimony was also strengthened by learning about the mission of that foursome, a thousand miles to the Lamanites west of the Mississippi. I had not stopped to realize the hardships they suffered because of the winter weather, the primitive traveling conditions, besides the tremendous disappointment of being evicted so unfairly once they got there! And yet it turned out to not be in vain, and indeed a blessing, because of their meeting Sidney Rigdon and the resulting blessing of Sidney and many of his congregation joining the church. Thanks again for your wonderful podcast! I’m to the point where I wouldn’t dream of missing it each week. 👍

Thank you! I needed to hear that reassurance today because I feel like I’m failing (or have failed) in the mission the Lord has asked me to do. After over seven and a half years of trying my best, I don’t seem to be any closer to the goal and blessings the Lord wants for me (in fact the end result He and I both want seems even further away than ever...I love agency and yet I could scream in frustration over agency as well). I’ve watered that little seed in my corner of the vineyard, hoping, praying, and fasting that I will finally have success and yet, my patience is failing and my hope is sorely battered. Those words of comfort and assurance that the Lord hasn’t forgotten me, that He qualifies me because He called me for it, and that my efforts are not wasted are the balm of Gilead for my wounded heart. Thank you 💛.

We all feel a little down sometimes it gets exhausting. I tell the Lord I need help, I have done everything I could. I have no more to give. I remember the words from the Lord and many other phrases. I Am near you, let Me help. My yoke is easy , So I kneel and pray for strengths and help. I am amazed on how quick my thoughts change and I get the Boost I need to keep going the extra mile, each morning I wake up is better. Our Lord Jesus Christ is there to help us all the way, his yoke is easy and refreshing. It brings peace to my heart in mind. Then and only then I can walk around with a smile on my face and radiate the spirit of the Lord.

I was just listening to another video on the CFM and this is the definitions they gave for meekness: Meekness is poise under provocation. Great power under complete control. They brought up the story of Abner Cole wanting to fight the Prophet Joseph over printing parts of the Book of Mormon without permission. Joseph’s response was, “put your coat on Mr. Cole it’s cold outside...” poise under provocation. I don’t know about you but there have been many times as a parent I have felt “provoked” by my kids but I wasn’t very well poised in those times. Food for thought.

God comprehends more than we do, at any given time. The struggles are opportunities for growth and we are to praise God even when things are going in the opposite direction to what we believe will happen. Still the Lord is with us. I can't fathom walking so far without the snow! Haha love the acting. That would be scary. What a story. Poor confused dog. Having an eternal focus is not about forgetting about doing todays regular duties and the mum of five who doesn't read the scriptures every day, may just be closer to God and His mercy than me studying the scriptures for an hour or so, in my retirement years. Having compassion and acting on it is important. We can all find a way to lift another and should also be humble enough to ask for help when we are struggling. I love how our prophet says he repents daily, that's a nice way to teach what we should be doing. Happy Easter from Tasmania, Australia.

Two kinds of apostasy with the statement Too little belief, and Too much Belief really struck home with me. @@KennethWedin I agree Ken. I remember at Education Week one of the teachers was saying that when he went to BYU as a YSA you had to be missing a limb or be wearing an eyepatch to graduate and not be married (or having found someone). Apparently now it’s only something like 40% of students who walk out married. Times have changed, and I do feel sorry for the men - my husband and I are YSA Stake supervisors and some of these boys look like deers in the headlights. There is so much pressure on them and they look so lost. The girls on the other hand, are a lot more mature and independent and self reliant - this creates a big gap. They often look for perfection rather than potential. I’m not saying it’s the same for everyone, but there definitely has been a change in thoughts and standards over the last 30 or so years... some of it very good, some of it not so good 🤔

In the Lords command to Thomas to “govern your house in meekness” has really caught my attention. What would that look like for a parent/child relationship. Unfortunately in our world today “meekness” doesn’t carry a very good connotation to it. In the dictionary it says it is patience or submissive. What do you all think.
@susanhicken69983 жыл бұрын
Topical Guide also references "teachable" I like 1 Peter 3:15-18 for a good definition of meekness. To me, there is much strength in meekness.
@amyuhl3 жыл бұрын
The definition I appreciate for meekness is humility in action.
@jasonhirst88203 жыл бұрын
Meekness basically means restraint - to have power to hurt someone or to elevate yourself, but to not use it. Christ was the ultimate example of this, because he had the power to save himself to make himself the king of the earth, or to judge and condemn everyone around him - yeah he never used his power in that way. As a parent, this means we have power over our children, but frequently rather than exercise that power, we let our children exercise their agency. Rather than using coercion, we seek to persuade, then ultimately respect their use of their agency. Instead of trying to control the outcome of their behavior, we instead focus on controlling ourselves and being the best example on the best teacher that we can be.

Ok,are we or are we not supposed to watch for the signs of His coming so we are prepared? Yes! By daily living the gospel at the same time. Maybe not so much on the DAY but the things coming just before. I don’t think it’s either /or. I think it’s both.
@tanyarobinson11463 жыл бұрын
There is a big difference in watching for signs, it is trying to say a specific date. There are many signs that could be symbolic, could apply to more tha one event, coukd be literal, maybe both literal and symbolic. I find many who are trying to say and form timelines are using quotes that can't be independently verified, or are absolutely false, and some that don't even exist when you go look for it. Watch and be ready, but it is as much to bolster your faith in Christ either for when he returns or when you die. Too many people over the centuries thought the second coming was going to happen because of signs, and when it didn't occur when they thought it would they loose the faith. For me I don't care if we are in the 6th or 7th seal, I keep watching and trying to learn, what does matter is living the principles of the gospel, increasing faith, daily repentace, honoring my covenants. By so doing I am preparing myself daily for his return.

Tyler, I could not help but notice a very ominous comment from the Lord in D&C 31:4. In times past He has said, "The field is white already to be harvested," but here he says, "The field is white already to be BURNED." To me 'harvested' infers that there is more work to be done. However, something that is burned in mortal terms means it has been destroyed. Thus, I think the Lord is telling us that time is up. There will be one last harvesting and then the field will be destroyed and mortality will come to an end. Thoughts?

I never hear of a man being damned for believing too much; but they are damned for unbelief. says Joseph Smith [History of the Church, 6:477; from a discourse given by Joseph Smith on June 16, 1844, in Nauvoo, Illinois, Grove East of Temple; reported by Thomas Bullock]
