I had a coworker who was orthodox in my teens and she quite literally saved my brother as she taught us the kosher symbols on food and suddenly we could identify IMMEDIATELY if a product had milk contamination (he has a very severe allergy and before she taught me and then I taught him, there were so many incidents and they had been getting worse). Kosher symbols are SO reliable it's amazing when cooking for family with allergies.

I love your kitchen! When my son was small, he was diagnosed as EXTREMELY allergic to milk. We had to carry the Epi-Pen around, had to use it once. Scary! Anyway, when he was first diagnosed, this was before KZbin, before Facebook.... I was so overwhelmed about how to keep him safe but also how to make sure he ate nutritiously. I had heard about keeping a kosher kitchen, and I educated myself about kosher food labelling. It really gave me a lot of peace of mind, because if the product was labeled as PARVE, I could trust that it was something he could eat safely! Happily, he outgrew his allergies! And he is a very healthy and happy 21-yr-old now.

@@frumitup Sara, no I did not, and that is one thing I was referring to! My son makes protein drinks and forgets about the bottles in his bedroom for days and days then throws them in the sink for me to clean. Oyvay!😷

Hi Sara 👋🏼 for the PARVE drawer use underware compartments you can find them at Ikea. There also different sizes and shapes containers with straight sides to save space.😊

No wonder you are so organized...you have to be in order to keep all of that straight...I had always heard about a Kosher kitchen but this is the first time I had it explained. And since I am no Jewish it was very informative.

The amount of patience you must have is INCREDIBLE to take all these steps every single day, especially with kids. I suppose you get accustomed to it and it becomes very normal. But as someone who knows basically nothing (apparently) about what goes into your lifestyle, I feel incredibly LAZY lol and people consider me a clean/organization freak!

Thanks for showing us your well organized kitchen. I took my junk drawer and really looked at all the items in there to see if I ever used any of them. Many of them, I hadn't used in years or didn't have a clue what they were for. So, got rid of a number of items. Can't imagine having so many sets of dishes! They are really beautiful too.
