There is one side that needs to show grace. The majority of left media and liberals have condemned violence, and they have responded with grace. The right has posted horrible responses. Your both sides argument is wrong. You are wrong.

My brother-in-law died from natural causes recently, and my sister was/is shattered. I can’t even imagine how this poor widow feels; she probably hasn’t even slept since the shooting. Biden has had his share of tragedy and heartbreak. I doubt he is judging her and no one else should either. Thanks Joe.

As a widow there are many times that someone won’t take a call. Extreme grief, anger, disbelief that their family member is really gone. That woman is still in shock and deserves grace and understanding. Trump not even making the effort says it all. He is self-centered but he also doesn’t give a shit about his supporters other than to get their money and their votes. The only reason those people were behind him on that platform is because he was using them as props for his rally. If it were for his campaigns he wouldn’t give any of them a second glance or thought.

I sorta maybe get what you're saying but at the same time when is this all going to end? Her husband is dead because of this crap. No, I am not in her shoes. No, absolutely not, I would not accept a call from Trump. But I think we can all agree that Trump and Biden are two different people. Trump wants to 'Fight, fight, fight!!!'. Biden wants to unify us despite our differences. I hope maybe someday she can see the difference.

Joe ... please help this freaked old woman out. I was watching live. I do not think this was staged. However, what I saw when trump got up and told the Secret Service to ‘wait, wait, wait’ and the fisted and yelled ‘fight fight, fight’ while the SS stood there! There was zero concern for their wellbeing, or trump’s or the crowd. They didn’t know there was a shooter so they had to assume there might be another. There was ZERO hurry and it just looked like a Reality TV episode set up for ratings. At the RNC, the crowd is now fisting, yelling ‘fight, fight, fight’! This is not defiance. Defiance would be getting the hell out of the situation and then talking about it afterwards. It’s marketing! Please help others understand this.

Excuses, she was OK enough to speak with a reporter from The NY Post, owned by the same guy who owns FOX NEWS, Rupert Murdoch. What she did was rude and cowardly...just Like Alito...defer to the spouse. I would have sympathy and empathy had she NOT spoken with a reporter from the NY Post. Sure, she has nothing against Biden and puts the responsibility on the shooter, but she used her husband as an excuse to be outright rude to Biden.

I think it was honorable for the wife to make a statement that she didn't blame Biden for her husband's death. I bet Biden was absolutely understanding that she didn't want to speak with him. And the fact that Trump didn't contact her should be the real news.

Grief is so overwhelming and different for each person. I'm heartsick for that man's widow and daughters, and she did what she needed to do in that moment. For her husband. For her broken heart. I think we all need to remember the gut-punch devastation of suffering a loved one's death and yes, give her grace. And time. And whatever she needs to have for her grief. Nearly two years after my beloved sister's death, I am still not okay. I know I never will be.

We never know how someone is going to react unless we are in their shoes. My husband took his life five years ago and I barely new my name for days but I was judged for not crying enough, crying too much, what I wore to the funeral, the picture I choose to put on his obituary announcement, how I did the funeral plans. Because he took his life, his famuly was embarrassed and mad at him for" upsetting" his brother who had alzhiemer's. His family blamed me ( those that didn't even know him) My adult children and grandchildren were ignored because he wasn't their " real dad" while his son who had been trashing him for years and broke his heart wanted pity. He raised my kids and my grandchildren adored him. My children's but dad who walked out on them got angry because my kids were mourning my husband and smeared them all over facebook and so did his mother, who they loved. It has been the hardest , loneliest, heartbreaking thing anyone could ever imagine we have got to understand to meet people from where they are 😢

You don't extend grace in the midst of a fight. That's my first point. But the actions of a spouse grieving the loss of her husband should be completely separated from that. She is a true civilian. She can process later that the man she and her husband support can't be bothered to reach out. None of our business or concern

I highly respect you Joe, but why even post this? I understand the wife’s actions and I know the President does. People have a right to get upset. I do not know how I would react in her situation, so that’s that. My question is why didn’t Donald call her? The media has almost one sided coverage now favoring Trump. People are mad about accusations which may explain their anger. No one should attack her but this is news?! Democracy is what we should all be concerned with.
