I like this version best because the extension makes it less repetitive and the bass filled in a hole I thought was in the original.

I always liked the way the original was repetitive, but yeah this remix really makes the theme more alive, I just think for starting battles that might be quicker, the Paper jam version was good with the way it used the short theme only with starting enemies before meeting Paper Mario.

Something I've noticed about the soundtrack of this remaster is that it replaces a lot of the acoustic sounds in the original GBA game with synths. I absolutely love it.

@@metalmario1231 I hate to break it to you if you haven't heard yet, but AlphaDream (developers of the Mario and Luigi series) went bankrupt a few years back, and we have not heard any news on a new entry in the series since. It is unlikely we will see a remake of Partners in Time either.

Oddly enough, I hated this theme the first time I heard it, but after playing the game and listening to it a little longer, I've actually grown to prefer the extension to the original, simply because I think it perfectly balances the remix/remaster style of music.

I prefer this over the original. Even:the original as Paper Jam feel incomplete as one part of the music lacks it, that part was finally completed, with this one 0:27-0:57 curiously my favorite part of the battle theme. Previously Come On! Was one of my least favorite battle themes but thanks to the remake, now Come On! DX is my third favorite battle theme only overcomed by Okey Dokey from Bowser's Inside Story and Attack the Enemy from Partners in Time.

Ok I looked it up and you’re actually right. Paper Jam came out December 3, 2015 while the 3DS remake of Superstar Saga came out October 6, 2017, almost 2 years after. All this time I thought Paper Jam’s version of this was based on 3DS Superstar Saga. My life is a lie.

As someone who heard of the 3DS remake before the original, I can confirm that this was one of my favorite themes in a Mario and Luigi game. Ok jokes aside, this is one of the best song remakes I’ve seen in a Nintendo game. This is such a huge upgrade from the bland and repetitive battle theme from the original GBA version of Superstar Saga. I love the new instruments and added melodies that just give it a sense of charm.

Nicholas Maier according to a movers interview with the dev team, Paper Jam was going to have a bunch of original Paper Mario characters, but were scrapped, for they feared it would clutter up the game to much. Though that is a bit sad, Paper Jam is still a good Mario and Luigi game.

If there is one thing i will never forgive this game for, its making the "advance" bros moves a completely separate (and _costlier)_ move, instead of just "the same move but with alternative action commands." Idk, it just felt more unique to me. It actually felt like you had mastered the move and knew some sort of secret technique, instead of just unlocking yet another option in the menu. And the fact that they cost more just ticks me off. I know it isnt that much of a problem since you'll likely win the fight long before bros points become a problem, but its just the principle of the concept, y'know? Its the same move, just different! Not better, just different. Hell, some of the advance versions literally are the exact same move, just with a finisher put on the end (namely, cyclone bros). Other than that, the remake was spectacular! But that one little detail kinda ruined it for me.
