You would think with the prices that Pottery Barn sells their furniture that that bed would’ve been solid wood. It’s obviously a veneer over something else. You have to be very careful when sanding veneer, it’s very thin.

I would take a chizzle and a hammer..stick the chizzle behind the bark..u may be able to just pry sum off ..otherwise if u hit the chizzle lightly w the hammer that MAY help the process..Luv Luv ALL of your videos..luv going thrifting w you and seeing all you get!! See ya next time mama❤

I loved those dresses at the thrift store!! And those mini huggy earrings are so cute! I would highly recommend letting that wood dry out before removing the bark! We did the same thing for our porch and it came out beautiful. I would also recommend sealing it because termites got into ours and the wood split! But I still think it looks beautiful hahah

I have seen a number of furniture makeovers where they paint the wood cream and then apply a brown finishing wax. This might work on the bed frame. The ones I have seen look amazing.

I would def let the stump dry out. Also i would recommend stripping the bed with stain stripper and then you could just give it a light sand. Good luck!

I think the bed would be cute painted and you'll probably have to let that stump dry out and I always wash everything even washed dry clean only so far I've always been successful I even washed a solid wool sweater and threw it in my dryer it didn't even shrink I don't know cuz I figured you'd come out small enough to fit a baby lol but it did not and it was one hundred percent wool

Hi Emily. 😊. Oh my gosh. You always make me laugh. You are hilarious. I can totally relate to this video. I found an awesome mid century, modern, solid wood console table and thought it would be a great idea to paint it in blue. I don’t know what I was thinking seriously. So I took the time to sand it down a little and do a really good job and paint it this blue colour and I absolutely hate it. So now I have to decide if I’m painting over it in a tan coloured paint or if I’m going to remove all of that hideous dark blue paint and try to get to the bare wood. 😩 it will be a beautiful piece of furniture so I feel like it’s probably worth sanding it down.

Any button can be sewn onto the white tee shirt, and I love the silk one, just goes to show you don't always need to hand wash silk 😃

Lots of cute things!! Definitely let the stump dry out well. The bark will come off more easily. You'll want to seal it, as you had mentioned 😉. We didn't seal ours, and dry rot has set in. Mind you, we use ours outside, but it's still a bummer. We'll be replacing ours, sanding and sealing. I am looking forward to how your projects turn out 😊 Happy Easter!! 💖

Speaking from experience let the stump dry out 😅 it will fall off much easier I need to sand my few I have down and seal them but I’ve been procrastinating 🤣😅 Also was thinking that bed painted a creamy beige would be precious!😊

I just painted something in Joa’s White by Farrow & Ball (but I color matched it with cheaper paint lol) and it’s a really nice light tan, not too warm not too cold.

In the future, use a stripper before sanding when you are dealing with a shellac/varnish finish over a thin veneer. A great channel to watch is @ flippingdrawers.
