For the Estee Lauder bag, find a local cobbler and see what it would cost for him to add straps. I bought my mom a purse a few year back for about $5, but the straps were gross. So, we went to a cobbler, who was thankful for the work, and had him rework the straps. He matched the perfectly. Afterwards, with the new straps, the purse cost around $35. She used it for almost 3 years and those straps held up. And that was daily use.

Dark Academia is a lovely Style it has been around for a while with a different name I remember it being a style back in the early 2000s matter fact I probably still have some clothes in my closet that would fit this theme. But I've always liked the style and I think you'll do great with it. Also I grew up with horses I rode horses all my life I still have horses at my house. If you ever get a chance to get one you should.

The Liz & Co bag and the Estee Lauder bag with the "crocodile print" I like to call it "mock croc" and the Tommy Hilfiger sweater with the shirt collar sewn in is sometimes called a "two-fer" because you are getting two for one- sweater and blouse look. I would love to see you do a video on adapting some Japanese fashion styles. I feel like Pop Kei is MADE for you, and you'd kill it. I could see you also picking some of the more over the top styles, but paring them down by finding, like, a piece that evokes one of them and building a more everyday look around it.

Dark Academia is definitely not evil, however, there are differences between dark and light academia other than just the colour palette. Dark academia tends to look into topics such as murder, philosophy and death, not in a creepy way, but they are themes that are on the darker side. While dark academia romanticizes the scholarly approach to death, light academia romanticizes the scholarly approach to all things life. Both have a great appreciation for literature, history and art. :)

Dark academia intrigues me. I think I could figure out a way to make it my style... too much dark color is not my thing but I bet I could do like one item of a contrast color (maybe even still dark) to add dimension to the outfit. Or play with textures. I love fall colors and some of the “academia” fashion is cute... except the school uniform style skirts... not super into those lol 😂 I went to a public school without uniforms but those still make me feel like a little girl when I wear them and not in a good, fun, youthful spirit kind of way. 😂

It was more the 90s. I was a teenager then, and my whole look in the late 90s was based around films like Oxford Blues, Dead Poets Society. My mum spent years trying to get me to wear 'sensible' shoes to school, and as soon as I started buying my own when I left school, the first pair I got was a pair of low heeled black lace up brogues.

You did a marvelous job explaining what it is...I wasn't familiar with Dark Academia, although this style has been in and out of fashion forever, and I love it. I really enjoy your videos and am a new subscriber. Those people who are bent out of shape about this style just look silly trying to link mental illness or elitism into plaids and sweaters and minimalist jewelry. LOL. How negative and sad. I choose to go to the thrift store and buy a plaid vest and wear it with a pleated skirt and tights and a pair of Dr Martens, and I wear it because I like the way it looks on me, not to make a statement against what-the-**-ever. It's just fashion, man. ♥
