I agree Ryan…cake is the best!! Trulucks chocolate malt cake is the most amazing cake I’ve ever had so give it a try sometime. My oldest son would love that Chicago shopping trip. When he was a teenager his favorite was Versace but now at 32, he’s more into Tom Ford, Gucci, and Brunello Cuccinelli. Thanks for taking us along!!

I've lived in Chicago for 30 years and have only been to fashion outlet mall once when it first opened. I guess we take it for granted. If you're looking for designer or better than mall brands, go to thrift stores in the city not the suburbs. In the suburbs, try Lucille's in Arlington Heights or the Junior League in Evanston. I've also found Prada, Chanel, St. John and others at Salvation Army. "North Shore" is where the affluent folks live so that's where they donate. Also, Monday is 50% off everything at Savers/Unique. I want to see your Chicago haul!

I had no idea there was a last chance in Chicago. I used to live in Phoenix so I went all the time. Back in the day (like 20 years ago when I was in college) their pricing structure was way more simple and you could get designer stuff for an absolute steal. It’s more like the rack now and it’s gotten sooo popular so it’s so hard to find stuff, plus the shoes are always such a dang mess! Glad you guys had fun. I’m living in the twin cities for a while, I hope to run into you guys at the thrift one day!

Chicago born and raised here but currently living in Vegas. That Salvation Army by downtown was my favorite thrift store. Found so many designer gems there. Sad to see they’re closing it 🥲

Thanks for letting me know the Union St. Salvation Army is closing. Had not been there for over a year. It was a very poor building, not maintained. I suspect that's why it's closing. But heads up! our Chicago SA stores just changed their hours to open at 11 am and I wondered why so late. Could it be that they're planning to close all the stores? They're having a heck of a time getting help....really big headache and that might cause them to close more stores.

Dying at the “???” To the PacSun tag in The Real Real. FOG is a diffusion of Fear Of God that dropped at PacSun in like 2017 or 2018. I worked there at that time and the launch was bonkers. It was gone in milliseconds. I’m not sure if they’ve done more drops since? But definitely the bougiest thing I think PacSun has ever done.

If you ever pass through Omaha I will make you a Denver Chocolate Sheet cake. I make it with buttermilk it’s amazing, just saying. Also the bright green color of the relish comes from adding blue dye to normal pickle relish. Lastly don’t forget to go see Sue the T-Rex, the man eating Lions of Tsavo, and the art institute, if you haven’t already. 😂

I love Chicago. I was there about 6 months ago and went to the Salvation Army in downtown Chicago and it was amazing. I found 2 pairs of Sorel boots for 12 bucks! I wished I would have stayed longer but it was so hot and most of the clothing was upstairs. Anyway have a great time!

Best places to eat in Chicago Portillo's and Lou's, since I live here I have them often, I also love walking around the outlet mall it is amazing, I like going to the consignment stores when I go downtown they are better in Chicago then the Schaumburg area glad you guys had fun.

I hope you had a great trip and the weather looks like it worked for you also. Next time you're downtown you got to go get the hot chocolate. I agree with Ryan love any type of devil's food cake with a great icing. Could eat it in the morning with a hot coffee, and have done that in the past

Portillos, Dick Portillo own it ....lol so funny. Family Hinsdale. I can tell you where some great huge Goodwills are, one is on CLyborne next to the drug rehab center, some great ones all over and St. VIncent De Paul one is good on Webster. Shhh during Covid I many rich people were home and tossed out shit....spring cleaning, and I helped the Mexicans collect shit. I took a few items to from closed down retailers....some cool furniture. I am from the hood but crossed the tracks so....I look out for the guys in their trucks looking for finds in the trash. Lincoln Park DePaul area.
