Didn’t he die in 06 and got brought back by the Chaos Emeralds? I honestly think this would count as just “a really weird Tuesday (the 2nd time)” for him. Even when he was canonically dead for a bit straight after he was brought back to life he decided to fight a super dimensional being that dissolved and ate timelines for lunch. @@cakey.20 It’s fine. Even though 06 has been one of the more ….notable games (for all the wrong reasons entirely). I wouldn’t expect everyone to know it. It’s pretty unfinished and buggy as hell so most of the attention it’s gotten is from people bashing it. Could’ve been the best game in the series though, if only Sonic Team had more time.

Technically, revived Sonic doesn't even have to be an AU as it happened in 06... which kinda didn't happen but also did (time travel shenanigans). But it's implied that Sonic remembers at least some of it (and outright confirmed in the Japanese canon)
