If I hit the lotto. Like a substantial amount. I would go broke doing this. Which would be so counterproductive because I wouldn’t be able to take care of them. But yea. Money wouldn’t be in my mind if I was able to do something like this. God bless you!!! ❤❤❤😊

My husband and I went to an auction three weeks ago and outbid a slaughterhouse for a beautiful draft x mare. Turns out she is 6 months pregnant!

I love watching these programs and that people are putting kill buyers out . I was so happy when the gas price went up and horse price went down. It made it worthless for some kill buyers to go to auction. That also had a down side that kill pens started to post last chance to rescue these beautiful horses or they will ship out to slaugter in 2 days.They then use the publics heart to rescue the horse for 4x of what they bought it for and buy 3 for the price they got for 1. 1 for sale and 2 for the end of the road. People need to give the money to the rescues so they can out bid the kill buyers and with the $1000 they give to last chance to rescue they can rescue 5 or more horses at the auction. They dont understand they are feeding the kill buyers to keep going to auction and get more horses just to flip to the careing public. Thank you so much for going right up against these slime bags and taking charge fo rthe welfare of these animals.

Being partial to bays, that one is my favorite. What is the kill buyer's price these days? Thinking of doing a rescue or two myself soon.

If you're refering to the meat price per pound, local auctions can differ, but it is the slaughter plants that set their prices for contracts with kill buyers. We have seen horses up to $900 be bought for meat, while others purchased at an even higher price will be posted on the kill pen's online page for resale (often with the threat of shipping to slaughter).

What type of trailers they drive, what price they will bid for..at this auction they had different type of bidder number. Oftentimes they are right up front or even on the floor in the demo pen

At this particular auction they give bidders the same # each time. The dealers and meat buyers typically start with a 5. We also know the shipping trucks and those who drive them there every month.
