What’s your opinion for Edea’s for working on/ landing doubles I really want them for my next skates and I prefer the look of the pianos but I feel like the ice flys would be better for my “skill level” if that makes sense. I also have a very hard time breaking in skates because they’re kind of made perfectly shaped for my foot but that makes it harder to bend when I first get them and longer after I get them. Like would there be a stiffness problem between the two designs that would make my inability to break in skates detrimental to my abilities? Idk if I’m making any sense but like which ones should I buy basically. Edit: and I’m sad because I’m probably gonna lose my jumps bc of corona😭😭

This is geared towards anyone who can answer but is using public skates ok for beginner movies? Like swizzled and stuff? Ik it’s not too good for jumps

Depends on the rink, all public skates I've been to don't care what I'm doing - backwards skating, spinning, turns, etc. But some rinks only allow skating in one direction forwards. It all depends on your rink and probably how busy it is.

When I started skating (at the very beginning when you learn how to skate forward etc.) I was given public skates and I only practised these basic elements like swizzles. When I got a level up I was given real figure skates and practise jumps since then. I personally recommend to only use public skated to get used to skating on ice and once you feel save swap over to figure skates and practice with them.

I don't really think so, just based on what my coaches have told me and what I've seen. Rental skates are loose from years of wear, have too-long laces that don't always match, and are sharpened like once a year. When you learn to skate the boot should be fitted to your foot and even tight, and the blades should be sharp. It's for safety and accuracy. I personally bought Jackson soft skates and used them for a year (soft skates are recreational figure skates) and then switched over to Jackson Mystiques (conpetitive figure skates). The soft skates were super cheap and I really recommend them for beginning figure skaters. The difference is a wonder. I hope I helped!

n. k. My last skates pretty much rotted from me not fully drying them every time I skated. They broke down really fast!! So I blow dry my skates in between each session and at the end of the skating day on the cold setting!!
