Hey hey! I definitely recommend looking into Grandview heights, Italian Village, and the King-Lincoln neighborhood for rent prices that are less than 1400 and still offer space and quality. Been in Columbus 9 years now , it looks like all the apartments you’ve shown are central / downtown centric and yes this is a college town, you’d be better going out to the suburbs like Hilliard , Dublin , Westerville etc I live in a loft in north Columbus , I looooove my apartment ( 9 years strong 💪🏼) but the actual complex is definitely lower end working class folks TRANSLATION….. I know where I live and I make no excuses …..but my rent is cheap $725( water included) and I’ve always wanted a loft. If you took my exact place and put it in New Albany Ohio ( Columbus suburb) make no mistake …. $1500 to start .

@@itzmbandzright on , and also north , south , east and west are all about 30 minutes away to each side of town, Columbus also is a bubble and territorial meaning no one and I mean no one cross pollenates here , wherever you live that’s where most people stay ( shopping , eating , etc because every little pocket , Reynoldsburg, Blacklick, Polaris , Westerville , Powell , New Albany , Grandview, Short North , Grove City, Hilliard, Grove Port , Obetz basically all the outskirts and even Columbus Proper (The City) have everything within the individual communities.

Ive been in Columbus since 1996, coming from the east coast (dc) Ive seen a drastic transformation in downtown and throughout. This was at a time before urban revitalization across the country. Columbus has a pop of apprx 900,00 people and the next larget city less than 400k. Campus is only a small part and really stands out. There are tons of outdoor festivals until dec. People have different ideas of fun. I dont care for nightclubs and bars. Some people dont do anything yet say Columbus is boring and they dont mention what they enjoy doing. There are more things than the jazz and ribfest. Ive been living in my neighborhood for over 20yrs and yes i had to have a full size washer and dryer. I wont suggest this place or that because you have to get a feel for what you want. A rule of thumb. Where ever you go, people are leaving. Where ever you leave, people are coming. Columbus is the fastest growing city in the u.s. and the cost of living will get more expensive. It was alway growing and getting more expensive before intel. Intel isnt even close to being finished.

OH WOW that’s sounds like it was a big transition coming from DC & yess that’s why I like Columbus because it’s a growing city!! Im not much of a party person so idc to be around the parties but i do like going to do things outdoors so I definitely want to be close to some fun activities or like a nice park. & thank you for the input!

Downtown is just one part of the city. If you really want to live here, maybe give it another shot after you do some research online on the various areas and apartments. Gahanna has some nice apts too but the rent is likely to be 1500 or more a month. I've lived in the Columbus area for 34 years and each area in and around the city has its own "feel". You were looking at some of the most expensive apartments in the city. I would suggest Gahanna, they have some nice, newly built apartments and you would be close to Easton shopping center if you like to shop. Easton also has some nice dining, and a movie theater, comedy club. And there are some apartments in and around Easton that are nice. But back to Gahanna, it is also close to the airport and it is only minutes from downtown. So if you like the downtown area for the nightlife like around the short north, the good thing about the suburbs of Columbus is that most of them you can get to downtown in under 30 minutes. The main things to consider are price of course, but also parking, crime, proximity to the major highways in the city, distance to work (because this traffic here is no joke, especially in the winter) and then whatever amenities you prefer personally like onsite gym, pool, nearby night life, shopping, gym, restaurants, college, etc. A place that's quiet clean and safe, youre looking at upwards of $1500 minimum. That is because Columbus is growing AND because there's a shortage of housing. Many places also have a waiting list. I wish you the best of luck!! Oh and one more quick note, if you find a place with really cheap rent, take the time to do some research on the owners, see if they have any complaints filed against them for failure to maintain their properties because that is a problem at some places here too. Also, be aware of any scammers who may try to rent you a place they don't even own. Much to think about. Just the mother in me giving advice I would give to my daughter. 🙂

Make sure to ask if the apartment complex have move in specials like 1 month free rent before you make an appointment. Don't get discouraged and invite people to your behind, it's not nice and unladlike.

You need to expand your search of apartment in columbus. Try looking at the suburbs also. I would never live downtown. Too expensive and too many alleys for females. Safety first. Columbus is a college town. O H I O. Buckeye all day baby.

Because of the influx of businesses, apartment rents are expensive everywhere in Columbus. For downtown living, that is actually not bad for what you are getting, especially the apartment with the pool and gym. The apartment with the parking for $125 a month is actually cheap, especially when monthly parking for downtown is about $200-$300, maybe more Good luck finding what you are looking for.

I’m on the southeast side and pay $1,105 for a ranch style apartment with an attached garage. Im gong to enjoy this pricing while I can.

@@cg5841 you should , I live far north near 161, I pay 725 for a really big loft , I love my place but the actual complex is I’d say a 7 out 10 maybe even a 6 if I’m being honest but whatever, but I it’s about to get crazy here in Columbus, I’m trying to see if I can snag me a nice condo within the next 24 months for around 250k because once Intel settles In it’s over for anyone making less than 100k trying to get a home 🏠 and in case you didn’t already know ….RENTING IS A LUXURY

There are beautiful apartments with all the amenities that you are looking for, but you are looking in the "hype" area and it's way overpriced. All the new apartments/condos in the downtown area are going to be overpriced. Look in the surrounding suburb areas where you can get the same thing for a lot less. They literally cater to a certain demographic in the downtown area. If you know what I mean.

​@itzmbandz check on Turtle Parc apartments in Westerville. They were built new in the last 5-6 years. They start at like 1300-1400. Very cute apartments and they have onsite gym, I think a pool and they're close to 270, close to Easton, not too far from Polaris. And Polaris has some nice apartments too.

Girl this second one i live when he said the utility us based in your individual usage. My complex it is based on usage compared to others in the complex, possibly bldg same size unit. I was so dumb miving in the place i live in now. I will be moving out in October. Thank God! I live the second one. The first complex looked too small and cost too much for its size.

The houses are worth a little over 800k. No need for me to buy a home when I will inherit not one but TWO houses. And not everyone wants a house. I like condos and apartments. I plan on selling them and moving out state🤡 now go scape up some mortgage money!
