This song always hits me hard. my best friend, and girlfriend of 4 years, died unexpectedly in June of 2013. Her funeral was on my 17th birthday. Such an emotional burden was placed on one of the days I enjoyed most. I'd do anything to hear her laugh and see her smile one more time. I miss her terribly, but I know that she would never want me to be sad about it. I've moved on with my life, and have since married, but she will always be with me.

Can I be honest with you, it sounds like you are not the one who made the mistakes. Jacob, I was married 20 years before all the cheating and the "other men" took her away. I loved her with all my heart,but either she couldn't see it, or just plain didn't want to. For six years I have blamed myself. So pay attention to the now, and look forward,step boldly and do not blame yourself for another falling. I If she cheated,and kept leaving, she was never truly there walking beside you in the first place. Time doesn't always heal all wounds, but there is no reason to wound yourself like I continue to do. Live forward Jacob and trust me, those mistakes were never yours. Be safe be well. Little update, she regrets it now, but I don't have to. And neither do you.

I remember the confusion and lonliness. that was 10 years ago. she's got a husband and a kid now. But I also remember the good times. The happiness. Feeling like I actually had a family. Since I was a still a child, her momma took me right in. my parents would fight and get physical and I could just go there and feel wanted. I dont remember the last time I felt real happiness and comfort like that. Nowadays all I have is stability and contentment. This 'i feel okay" feeling.
